POV: Mason
The archway led us into a vast, dimly lit hall. Shadows danced along the high stone walls, and the air was thick with the scent of ancient parchment and secrets long kept hidden. As we ventured deeper, the sound of our footsteps echoed ominously.
At the far end of the hall, a grand altar stood, surrounded by towering bookshelves that seemed to stretch infinitely upward. In the center of the altar, an ancient tome lay open, its pages glowing with a soft, ethereal light.
"We're here," Alex whispered, her eyes wide with wonder and apprehension.
David stepped forward, his gaze fixed on the glowing tome. "This is it—the source of the knowledge we've been seeking."
