Somehow she felt that it was against his feelings of what was right and what was wrong.
But he obviously now realised that she was sincere in her efforts to help him.
“I suppose I must listen to what you have to say,” he answered grudgingly. “But if you are kiddin’, I will want your money or you can swim home!”

He turned the boat round and started to row back the way they had come.
