“Man, sounded like you two had your hands full over here.”
The familiar gruff voice almost made Jade jump, since she had thought that she was alone in the stable with Artorius. She slowly turned her head enough that she would be able to glimpse over her shoulder, swallowing gently as she found herself face to face with Devon once more.
“I-I thought that you weren’t home. Ashley said that she had tried knocking on your door earlier, but you didn’t answer.”
“I found that I didn’t have much food in my house, so I opted to go have myself some breakfast at the local diner before going to do my grocery shopping. I just got back.”
