Aria
“I woke up to the smell of a warm sweet-smelling breeze, that I had no recognition to what the wonderful smell was, blowing across my cheek. Breathing deeply, I opened my eyes to see if I could find out what I was smelling in the breeze. When I opened my eyes, the first thing I noticed was that I was not in my bedroom lying on my soft bed with my five-year-old daughter Octavia, but a very open meadow with that look to be flowers that looked like heather, but unlike the heather I knew, this heather grew in all types of colors of blues, reds, yellows, pinks and purples. The sky wasn’t a sky that I would normally see in my town back home, this sky was a dazzling blue with funny shaped clouds slowly passing by. By the look of the sun, it looked to be around midday. From where I was lying, it looked like I was in the shade of a huge tree with leaves in different shades of pink.
The second thing I noticed was that I was lying on something that wasn't the ground, as it seemed to be alive. Moving my view, up and down. So, I moved my head so I could get a better look, when a pair of arms wrapped themselves around me. I froze from trying to move my head any further. I had no clue what to do. I didn’t know who this person was or where I was. Even though I was flipping the freak out, I took a deep breath and looked up at the most gorgeous man I have ever seen.
He raises his head to look at me and I find myself staring into his clear grey eyes with swirls of grass green and ocean blue that moved in motion. They don’t look even remotely natural, but on him it didn’t look fake at all. It just enhanced his beauty, his super long brown hair with grass green and ocean blue highlights in it. He gives me the biggest loving smiles I have ever seen. I tried to roll off him, but he kept his arms around me and said, "I’m sorry that I was laying on you." At which made him look a bit confused, but he brushed it off like maybe I wasn’t fully awake. I tore my eyes away from him to get a better look at where I was and what I saw confused me even more.
Behind the huge tree there looked to be a huge castle about a football field or two away. This castle was something you only seen in an animation-type movies. It was so big and the stone looked to be a mix of white and grey marble, at least from what I could see from where I was. I was looking at it in amazement, when the smell of water hit my nose. I turned to see a beautiful crystal-clear lake with light pink sand encircling it. The water made sounds against the sand that didn’t make sense. Not only did it make the noise of a calm sea hitting the sand, but it made the softest melody of someone playing a harp, to which could only be where that sound was coming from.
I tried to sit up but the man wouldn’t let go of me, but said instead, “Where do you think you're going?” with a raised eyebrow and the most amazing smile I have ever seen.
“I was going to get off you and sit up.” I replied.
“And why would you want to get off your mate? It's so peaceful to sit up and not lay against me.” he said with a joking tone.
“Umm,” not knowing how to answer his question, as I had no clue who he was. Before he could say anymore, I decided now would be the time to ask him who he was and how we got here. “Who are you and where are we?”
He looked confused and a little concerned when he responded. “Oh, come on, you know who I am and we are near the lake where we were having a picnic with your twin sister and her family. They are on the lake with Earendil while you and I took a nap. You were feeling sea sick when you had just got on the boat, so we went to lay under this tree. Maybe we should go back to our suite and call the royal healer if your still feeling bad.” As he brushed my hair lightly behind my ear.
“No, there is no need to go back to our suite as my stomach doesn’t hurt.” I answered back, not wanting to leave this beautiful place and the peacefulness it bought to my soul. “I do want to sit up now; I’m done taking a nap.”
Instead of just letting me go and letting me sit up by myself, he strengthens his arms around me and then moves to sit up. I gasp as he turns me to face the way of the lake and pushes my shoulders gently back to lay against his chest. He then brushed my hair off my shoulder, which I now noticed was pure white with highlights of hot pink and lowlights of pastel pink. He chuckles and says, “I didn’t mean to startle you sweetheart, but I thought why let you off me when I could just sit,us up and keep you on me for a bit longer.”
I looked at him confused, then my mind drifted back to what he called me when we first started talking. I decided to just go ahead and ask him why and figure out where I was and if I was in danger. “Why did you call me mate earlier?”
Looking at me even more concerned. "You sure your fine? You know that is what we call our soulmates. You are unique since you’re a rare twin, Nessa, and you have two mates each.” He looked into my eyes like he was trying to decide if he should have listened to me about no healer or not. Then he looked like he had noticed something in my eyes. “You're not Galadriel, are you? Well, you are, but you don’t seem to have any memories of this place or of us.”
As I was about to answer, the world in front of me faded into darkness...
