Finding My Way Back

Chapter 6

Garrett 

When we stepped into that restaurant, I didn’t know what to expect, but finding another reborn Earthtarian wasn’t one of them. My wolf was a little uneasy as soon as we stepped out of the car, but I figured it was just because we found our mate and didn’t want her to be hurt in anyway. Aria had waved at a couple sitting down at table off to the side and I recognized his scent, tho I couldn’t really be sure who he was. I give Roy as Aria had introduced him a closer look and still can’t tell who he is. He looks at me and he knows I know about him, but doesn’t say anything. I look to Bella who starts firing a bunch of questions as I sit down. Aria looks embarrassed about her friend interrogation of me, but I smile and let her know I don’t mind.  

As I’m answering her questions, I noticed she had clear grey eyes with hint of light blue in them like Aria’s. We found out that was a sign of reborn again royalty, when we had found the youngest prince Callon, who had also died in the last world. We also found out that mates of the royal family when they were reborn had clear grey eyes with hints of blue or green depending on what eye color dominated them in their first life. Like mine are clear with hints of green but my eye color in my first life was swirls of green and blue but more of green than blue. That means tho that Aria’s friend is her twin sister from their first lives, which he hadn’t been able to find yet, we haven't even been able to find her first mate either. Everyone just thought they were not born yet, but if the hint of Roy’s eye color makes it clear, it's her first mate. When the Royal family here what I found, they are going to flip, as they hadn’t had any hope that they would be able to find them, or that they would be reborned since both died before the war happened. 

After the waiter came and took our order, Aria started taking over the questioning, which kind of shocked me but made me happy as well. It showed that she was getting interested in my life, tho right now she can’t really get to know a lot of about my life otherwise she will flip out. I could answer them easily enough, but one thing got me questioning Roy and how he met Bella. He said that they met in middle school and that they fell in love instantly. He said that he and her had a 3-year-old daughter the same as Aria’s daughter. When he was telling about how he wish he could have stopped what happened to Aria and had explained a little bit of what happened. Hearing what had happened makes me wonder if that’s when Earendil had sense Aria when she was in danger, that she somehow reached out without knowing that she did. I’ll talk with Earendil when I get home about it to see if that is what it was.  

Our food arrives and we start talking about this and that nothing too important. As the meal comes to a close, I make a motion to Roy where the girls can't see and we excuse ourselves to the bathroom. We get to a point to the restrooms that no one can see us, but we can see anyone coming.  

“So, who were you in your first life?” I ask him. 

“What do you mean?” He answers. 

“Don’t play with me, I know from your eyes that you are a reborn Earthtarian. So, who were you then?” I ask him thinking he is playing. 

“That's what Walter had asked me after I started beating him up after he had r***d Aria, I had no clue what he meant.” he responds. 

“How can you not know who you were? When you hit 18 did you turn into a wolf?” I asked, maybe he didn’t know. Most reborn Earthtarians were born to other reborn Eathtarians or their mates the ones that didn’t die during the war. No one had left our pack unless they felt their mates like I had, which is rare that a pack mate being born outside the pack. 

“Yes.” His eyes wide but cautiously. “It was the night of the bonfire where Walter had attacked Aria.” 

“Ah, well there is much I have to tell you but know that you are not alone in what you are. I’m a werewolf to and before you think full moon, going crazy doesn’t happen often. Tho we do take on the traits of the wolf we become, but I think it had to do with it being the closely related to what us Earthtarians valued and were like back all those centuries years ago. Now tho I don’t think we have time for all the explaining. Have you told Bella that you can change into a wolf? I say to him. 

“Yes, she knows, she seen me change into a wolf that night when she was tending to Aria. She hasn’t told Aria tho, it’s the only thing she has been able to keep from her friend. Those two tell everything to each other you would think they were twins with how much in sync they are. Plus, we have been able to speak to each other in our minds so she doesn’t want Aria to think she is crazy.” he says. 

“Ah, yes that’s a thing between mates that they can do. They can also feel each other’s feelings as well. About those two telling each other everything and being in sync with each other well that’s a long story as well. But they are twins and it seems their being in sync passed on even tho they are not twins now. So that’s normal for them. How about you come over after Aria drops me off at my apartment and we will talk things over, Bella can come as well as it includes her as well. I would also like to get to know Aria more is there any way you could stage sometime to where we could meet in not so public area, as I have to talk to her about all this to. As her life and her daughter’s and possible your little family is in danger.” 

“Let me ask Bella maybe she will have something she can come up with. She is very good about that.” He looks like he is staring off into space for a minute then looks back at me. “She says she has a plan that Aria will go for and she says you have a lot of talking to do.” he says. 

I shook my head; I handed a piece of paper out of my wallet that has my address on in and then told him that we should pay for the meals before we head back to the table.  

“Oh ok, but Aria won’t like you paying for her meal. Since that night she has been pretty much only depending on herself for everything. She will probably make a fuss about you paying for her.” he laughs saying. 

“It's something I can take. I’m just glad I found her. We never thought we would find her again.” I respond, waving at him like saying I'll explain it later. 

We walk back to the table to the girls and Roy was right she did get upset but was quick to get over it. She was so adorable when she was worked up and when she was teasing. Bella came out with her plan of going to her house on Friday night for a slumber party for the children and then mentioned I should come to dinner. Roy was right Bella is good at this type of stuff. We get up and head out to the car, I nod back at Roy knowing he will be coming shortly later. I tell Aria that she should take me home, I did feel bad about lying to her about getting some classwork done, but the real reasons would bring unwanted questions that I’m not ready to answer just yet. 

I went into my apartment, locked the door behind me and put my stuff down. I take a look around the apartment to make sure nothing like dirty underwear was on the floor in the living room or the bathroom I wouldn’t want Roy or Bella seeing. Living on my own I’ve gotten in some bad habits about leaving stuff on the floor getting to it later. Seeing that nothing was out of place, I took out my phone and texted Earendil. 

Me: I found her! But things are a lot more complicated than we first thought it would be. I’m about to find out more and I will text you later after they leave. You might want to let the royal family know as well or give them a heads up. I’m turning my phone on silent so I'm not distracted talking to these people I’m about to talk to. 

I turn it on silent and stuffed it into my pocket just as a knock on the door comes.
