On the day of the Geo concert, Larry was surprised to see Crystal actually waiting for him at the curb outside her school when he arrived to pick her up. She stood on the very edge of the pavement, bouncing on her toes, her backpack securely settled over both shoulders and her thumbs hooked into the straps as she grinned broadly while her friends crowded around her. Even as he pulled into the circular drive, Larry felt the excitement radiating from his daughter, and he could almost hear the girls giggling as he drove closer. When he found a place to park, Crys hurried to the car instead of having to be prompted—suddenly she was eager to leave, and her friends trailed behind her like baby ducks following their mama.
