8. I wont hurt you

"No." Zeke replied calmly. "I know exactly the wolves you are thinking and I am not one of them, my people are not them. In fact my pack took out the leader of those terrible werewolves."   Val nodded. "You're right I know you would never hurt me, you just caught me completely off guard. Six months ago I didn’t even know werewolves existed, and the only ones I have come across were trying to kill me." She walked back over and sat down next to him. "I'm sorry for my reaction." She frowned turning her head away.   Zeke grabbed under her chin and brought her back to look at him. "Don’t be." He smiled.   Val looked into his eyes as that spark again filled her body with warmth. 'Why did his touch effect me like this.' She asked herself.   "What questions do you have for me?" Zeke asked.   "Have you always been a werewolf? Like even when we were in high school, or did another werewolf turn you into one?"   "I have always been a werewolf, you have to be born one. Being bitten by one will not turn you into a werewolf."   Val nodded. "Does it hurt when you like turn? Does it have to be the full moon."   "It only hurts the first time as you're body is learning to let your wolf take over, and I can turn anytime I want to."   "When you found me you said something about the pull, what was that about? And whenever we touch I feel like sparks, or static electricity, do you feel it too?"   Zeke ran his fingers through his hair. "Um, that is pretty complicated stuff and I am not sure you're ready to hear about it."   Val looked at Zeke trying to figure out why he could tell her he was a werewolf, but not what he was talking about, or why she felt sparks. She was feeling this pull towards him like nothing she had ever felt before. She had always felt an attraction to him, I mean who wouldn’t? He was handsome by any standards, and he somehow got more handsome with age. "What could be more complicated then you being a werewolf? I mean you're the one who said it to me, and now you're not going to explain yourself? I demand you tell me right now."   Zeke chuckled and shook his head. "You know you haven't changed a bit. You have never had any problem putting me right in my place. It’s one of my favorite things about you, you don’t take crap."   "Well I have changed a lot, I am nowhere near as beautiful as I was back then, and you are dodging the question trying to butter me up!"   "That is not true, you were beautiful then and you are beautiful now. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life.'   Val blushed and shook her head. "I am not."   "You are. And I will tell you everything, but it may scare you. I just want you to know that I will leave the ball in your court and let you decided how you want to go forward with this information."   Val looked at him and nodded. She could tell whatever he was going to tell her was serious, and he was feeling torn about telling her. "Ok."   "I said, Don't you feel the mate pull. Werewolves have mates, one person the Moon Goddess picks out for just you. It’s like your soulmate. Sometimes if a mate dies a second chance mate will be picked for you but not always." He stopped and tried to read her reaction, for now she seemed fine, so he continued. "When you meet your mate you know it is them you can pick up on their unique scent and your wolf will let you know. Werewolves are mated to other werewolves, I have never heard of one being mated to a human before."   "So then why did you ask me if I felt the mate pull?"   "Because, Val, you are my mate."   Val's eyes grew wide as she looked at Zeke, shocked. "I, I um. I don’t understand. How can I be your mate? I am human."   "I don’t know to be honest my Alpha had what we thought was a human Mate, but it turned out she was a werewolf after all. Everything I know about you tells me you are a human and there is no way you're a werewolf though."   "I definitely am not a werewolf. I mean my parents aren't so how could I be?"   Zeke nodded. "So this is rare, like really rare. I have never heard of anyone being mated with a human. I am not sure what is going on, or why the Moon Goddess chose to put us together."   Val looked at the ground, this was a lot to take in. She was shocked to hear he was a werewolf, and now he's telling her they are destined to be together? She had to admit though, she liked the idea of being his soul mate. All these years later and she just couldn't get him off of her mind, he was a constant in her dreams and interrupting her thoughts often. "So what about the sparks? Is that a mate thing?"   Zeke smiled and reached up to touch her face.  "Yes." He stroked her cheek as sparks flew between them. "That spark you’re feeling is what we call the mate bond. It is another signal that we are mates and destined to be together."   She closed her eyes, reaching up and resting her hand on his. "If we are mates then why didn't I feel this spark when we touched in High School?"   I wasn't eighteen yet, and didn’t have  my wolf. When a wolf turns eighteen they get their wolf at Midnight, meeting them for the first time. So until then I wouldn't have been able to feel the Mate pull."   "What do you mean by meeting them? Like you can communicate with them?"   Zeke nodded. "Yes in fact he can hear everything you’re saying as well, he is part of me, we are one together."   "And does he have a name, or are you both Zeke?"   "His name is Olcan."   Val smiled. "Olcan, I like that. It’s a very strong name."   'She said my name!' Howled through their bond. Zeke laughed. "He is excited to hear his name from your lips."   "Do I get to meet him?" Val asked.   Zeke smiled. "Yes." 'Now Now!' Olcan said. "He want's to meet you now, but I think perhaps we should wait until we tell your uncles who I am . Who knows how they will react seeing a werewolf."   "Oh." Val smirked. "I forgot to tell you. They’re not my uncle's, they're my body guards."   "Well then wait until we tell your body guards."   "They have become like uncle's to me though. They have been with me for as long as I can remember. Even when I was here in America one of them was with me anytime I was away from school. My dad thought two huge Russian men would attract a lot of attention at the school."   Zeke chuckled. "He was right. What other questions do you have for me?"   "I do have more!"   "Of course, you can ask me anything at anytime."   Val smiled. "So going forward, since we're mates what does that mean for us?"   "Well that is up to you. But typically mates get married pretty fast. The mate pull is pretty strong and they find it hard to stay away from eachother, until." He cleared his throat. "Until they complete the mating bond."   "You mean sleep together?" Val blushed.   "Yes."   "And do you mean like they have s****l tension between them?"   Zeke nodded. "Yes it is pretty intense."   "So is it intense for you right now?"   Zeke smirked. "Yes, I really want to kiss you right now. That is how the Mate pull works, it literally feels like something is attached to you pulling you towards them. But I know you aren’t feeling the pull like I am. So I am going to take things slo…" Val quickly leaned in and crashed her lips to his. She had wanted to kiss him since the first day she saw him in the back of Mr. Edelin's math class laughing and cutting up with Chase, James and Justin. She was attracted to him then, but nothing like she was now. She pulled away and looked at Zeke, as he started back at her shocked. "Wow, I am sorry." She touched her lips as they felt almost numb from the sparks that hit them as their lips touched. "I don’t know what came over me." She turned to leave when Zeke grabbed her hand.   Zeke spun her around and took her into his arms. He looked into her brown eyes. "You feel it too don't you?" Val nodded. She again leaned in as kissed his lips. Sparks surging through her body, it was the most intense thing she had ever felt in her life. Almost like a drug. She ran her fingers up through his hair as he deepened the kiss. She licked his lips, begging to let her in. Her body was on fire as sparks coursed through her veins. They pulled away both out of breath as they leaned their foreheads together.   "Woah." Val said. "That was." She looked into his eyes. "I have never been kissed like that before."   Zeke kissed her cheek, then grabbed her hand. "We should get back before they start to worry."   They started to walk back towards the cabin. Val intertwined her finger with Zeke's as she leaned her head into his shoulder. "Can I ask you one more thing?"   Zeke brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it. "Anything."   "Say I decided to be with you, give in to this mate bond as you call it. What would that mean? What would happen to me, and what would happen to Hans and Klaus?"   "Well you would come back to my pack with me and we could be married if that's what you wanted. Hans and Klaus could come as well."   "But would your pack be ok with humans coming in?"   Zeke laughed. "Half of our pack are human's now. When things got crazy we banded together, we have many humans with us now. They are like family. In fact our Luna's two best friends are Human." Val looked at the ground an nodded. "Val." Zeke reached under her chin and brought her face up to look at him. "Please don't feel any pressure. I will go through the pain of breaking the bond. I can handle it, if I knew it was what you wanted."   "What do you mean the pain?"   "When werewolves break their bond with their mate, it is very painful. Sometimes it happens because their mate rejects them, or sometimes it happened when one dies."   Val looked into Zeke's eyes to see if he was telling her the truth. He was. The last thing she wanted to do was cause him pain, but was she ready to move so quickly with him? She needed to think about it. All of this information he had dumped on her was overwhelming, and she also needed to see what Hans and Klaus thought. They were the closest thing to family she had right now. "I don’t know what I want to do, can I think on it overnight?"   Zeke smiled. "Of course you can." He hid his pain. He had hoped she would immedietly decide she wanted to be with him, but he knew this was hard for her. She didn’t live in this world.  He had finally found his mate, but in the end would she reject him? After all of this, finding out the woman he loved back then, and still held a place in his heart was his mate. After all of that, would she reject him? Would he still end up alone?
