It was a wild idea that had occurred to me, but Red kept insisting I didn’t understand. Since I hadn’t been in the North for so long, I thought it was time I checked it out for myself. Maybe Ashes and Laelia hadn’t taken care of the humans. Maybe they truly felt neglected, and while a rebellion certainly wasn’t the solution, I couldn’t say we had made better decisions in the past.
We invaded the North without verifying the source, and the humans were gearing up to invade the South as well. So, I thought it was time to do better. Maybe we could both learn something from this experience. I, at least, hoped we could.
