Chapter 3

~Adrian~ I could still hear her yelling as I reached the top of the stairs. Within the last hour or two, I was shockingly amused at how much fire she had in her. She was beautiful but damn did she have a mouth full. Maybe I should wash those filthy words right from her pretty little mouth. She was very outspoken and disobedient, but somehow, I found her unique. I checked through her phone to see if there was any indication that she wanted my father dead. So far, nothing. Just text messages from her sister and her mom and a fellow nurse named Melissa asking about a shift change. Her phone buzzed and the name David came up. I was curious to see who he was. Maybe a boyfriend or something, but all I know is that I opened the message and instantly regretted it. He sent her a d**k picture with the caption, You like what you see? Eww. If that's the best she could do then, poor woman. Closing out the phone, I sat there unsure of what the hell happened tonight. The little murderer has been locked up and probably hasn’t eaten yet. I don’t even know why I care if she ate anyway. I guess a part of me needed her alive. I needed to prove that she’s guilty and then she will die. But I suppose a little food wouldn’t hurt. It would be the hospitable thing to do. “Victor!” I yelled, knowing he was guarding the door to my study. A few seconds later, he appeared. “Can you take a tray of food to our prisoner? She looked famished when I went to see her.” He bowed before me a little too eager, but I didn’t think nothing of it. He’s been one of our family’s guards for such a long time since I was a kid. Now he’s in his fifties and guarding our family along with Henry, whom my father seemed to trust more than anyone. Victor, on the other hand, there’s something off about him. I’m not sure exactly what it was, but that’s just the vibe I got from him. “As you wish, Your Majesty.” He left the room and I continued to look through her phone. This time, I went through her pictures and I was instantly lost in them. God she was gorgeous. Most of them were selfies of her and a woman that looked just like her. Maybe her sister, I thought. There was also pictures of a little girl who also resembled her. The same gray eyes and beautiful dark hair. Before I had time to fully examine the picture, I noticed how much time have passed since I sent Victor to deliver food to her. It shouldn’t have taken long to do that. Maybe she caught him off guard and was trying to escape. I wanted to believe that but my intuition was telling me otherwise. Just then, a guard knocked on my door. “Come in!” I shouted. He poked his head in before fully stepping in and bowing to me. “Your majesty?” “What can I do for you, Charles?” “Something happened earlier when we were delivering the prisoner to her cell. Victor, he-“ he paused, but I was curious to know what was going on. “What did he do?” I urged. “Your majesty, he said vulgar things to the prisoner and tried to touched her inappropriately. He said that we could have fun with her since she’s good as dead. I was able to stop him before it went too far.” s**t and I just sent him back down there. I know I shouldn’t care, but making unwanted advances at women in general is a crime we take serious in Adenville. Prisoner or not, I wasn’t going to allow that to happen. I quickly left my study and yet once again headed to the dungeon. It was crazy, I was running to save my potential father’s murderer from an assault. Maybe this was her way of trying to trick me by using my guards, but they knew better. She better be there when I arrive. This better not be a game of hers or her death date will come a lot sooner than she thinks. As I reached the stairs, I heard a scream, but not just any scream. It was the scream from Victor. ~Tori~ I was furious that he played me and how easily it was. I yelled and yelled until I saw him disappear. I was feeling so many things. I was tired, cold, and hungry and all I wanted to do was contact my family and let them know I’m safe. I miss them so much. I know they must be freaking out. I sat in the corner feeling guilty over them worrying about me. Time has passed before I heard a noise. The footsteps were getting louder and I stood hoping for some odd reason that it was the King and he changed his mind about my phone call. But to my dismay, it wasn’t him. It was that creepy ass guard, Victor. When he saw me, his predatory glance made goosebumps rise on my skin. He held a tray of food and although I was hungry, I don’t know where it came from. “So we meet again, commoner. The king has requested that you eat.” He went to unlock the cell and for a split second I saw my chance of escaping. I also knew that even if I managed to escape this dungeon, I wouldn’t have made it any further. He came closer and knelt down in front of me. “I would like to finish what we’ve started,” he growled. He sat the tray on the floor and then his hand trailed up my leg. I pushed his hand off of me. “Is this how you treat all the prisoners? Or just women?” He wickedly laughed. “No, just the ones that catch my eye.” His hand was back on my thigh making me feel even more uncomfortable. “Can you please move your hand? Don’t you understand the word, No?” My feet were still chained so it was difficult for me to run away from him. I went to push his hand away again and he held my wrist. My heart raced. This man was disgusting and for once I wished the king was here. “I don’t have to do anything. You are a murderer, a beautiful one at that, but you have no right to order me.” He moved his hand in between my thighs and my heart raced with fear. He was right. I’m here alone for something I didn’t do. No one will believe me if I told them, but I still had to fight. He used his other hand and held my wrist above my head. He pretty much had me trapped. He leaned in and kissed my neck, his coarser tongue making me feel dirty. “Let go of me!” I tried to pull away from him, but he seemed to like the fact that I was fighting him. He forcefully claimed my lips, pushing his tongue into my mouth. I felt nauseous, dirty, and disgusted. He ended up getting me on the ground and hovered on top of my body. My fight or flight mode kicked in and since I couldn’t run, I decided to fight. I raised my knee to his balls and bit his tongue hard causing him to scream in agony. “You b***h,” he hissed. I tried to get up but he caught me by my chain wrist and pulled me down. All of a sudden, I was gasping for air as he choked me. His hand was getting tighter with each word he spat. “You dirty commoner, I’m about to do the king a favor.” He smiled as he saw my face pale and my body began to weaken. I guess the king wasn’t the one to determine my death after all, it was his royal guard.
