Violet's POV. It was the D-day. Today was my day of reckoning, my moment of truth. I would know my fate today, and whatever happened, I hoped I didn't pass out in the courtroom. I was called to have my bath and eat breakfast. When I saw the food, something in me snapped. It was a lavish dish – sevruga caviar with scrambled eggs and champagne-infused sauce, and there was coffee. This meant they could now bring in good food to me. I didn't know why that made me sad. If my fate was to be sentenced to a jail term, then that meant I'd be eating good food, still, I'd be locked here.
