Violet’s Pov
The water was beginning to make me cold so I opened my eyes. He wasn't there anymore.
I instantly broke through the surface of the pool water, gasping for air. I had stayed too long in the water and anyone would have thought I had drowned. And he left me there! He actually left me to drown.
I swam to the ladder. Thankfully, I knew how to swim, I learnt that with my friends back in high school. With all of my strength, I swam with my clothes weighing me down. As I emerged from the water, I felt a chill run down my spine.
The night air was cool and unforgiving, and I was shivering. I looked down at my ruined clothes and makeup, and a surge of anger rose up inside me.
