The loud siren of the ambulance filled Cheska’s mind. The doctor’s voice tried to console her. Her brother is in a critical situation. His appendix burst at the time he was moved to the emergency room.
“Please tell me what’s happening? Why’s my brother here?” she asked.
The nurse shook her head and patted her shoulder. “He’s in the operating room. Good thing someone was there to permit us for operation or it will be too late for your brother. Let us hope the operation will do well.”
“Who permitted the operation?”
“He said he’s your husband,” she finally said.
Cheska’s eyebrows raised at the last sentence. Her husband?
“Excuse me for a moment, Miss. I do my rounds for a while. Thank you.” The nurse excused herself.
