19 - 19 - The first of the attackers reached the house. He stood by a window and took something from an inside pocket, placing it on the ground. Rodin knew what it was. He slipped on his jacket, then the small pack. The man by the house stepped back and turned, but not before Rodin saw his confused expression. Then the man started making his way through the grass, treading very carefully. Others were by the house now, and they too placed their packages by the base of the wall. From this distance, in this lighting, all Rodin could see were dark, solid-looking cylinders. Even if it were lighter, he knew he would see nothing but the outer casing. To see the explosives inside, he’d have to open them up. And only then would he see the remote detonators. There was a burst of intense light
