Aleph screamed for them all to move, and the yell must have been deafening to Genna, so close were the two of them, but Genna barely registered it. She only shuffled when Aleph pushed. It took another cry to urge Byrnia and Shorack into action. They passed through a few more doors, then across what must have been a station. It was difficult to see details in the gloom. There were lights down low, where the wall met the floor, but Byrnia and Shorack also wore torches on their collars. These beams of light moved erratically, but Leopold could make out the strange construction by the edge of the platform. He recognised it, even though last t
