29 - 29 - Genna knew the light beyond the secret door was only dim, but after the darkness of the narrow passage she had to shield her eyes. It was only after thirty seconds that she could look around. The room was small and bare. If Genna stood in the middle she could stretch out her arms and reach all four walls. Because this room, like the passage, shouldn’t exist. It wasn’t a room so much as a gateway. But it was also something else. When she’d planned this, she’d added something. The room had two doors‌—‌the one she’d come through, that now looked like another panel of the wall, and the one opposite. But under one of the large square floor tiles was a hole.
