ACYN
“I don’t know who she is mom, but I can’t get her out of my head…” I heard Jordan repeating my words in a sarcastic, high-pitched and love-sick sounding voice. I waited for my opening and when Jonathan busts out laughing, I bust through the door pretending to be angry, catching him kissing his hand, mocking me. What are we- punk kids again?
“I know for a fact that is NOT how I sound” I smirked, raising one eyebrow. “I knew you’d give me hell for that, I just didn’t know you’d resort to being this juvenile…” I trailed off smirking when I see his face redden at being caught.
“Jealous? Yeah, right,” he chuckled. “But in all seriousness Ace, what is up with these dreams you’ve been having? And you remember last night’s only? That is bizarre,” as he took his seat behind his desk, reverting back to the man instead of the boy.
“I don’t know Jordy. It was so strange and so real- like I was part of it…” I trailed off as I stood and just stared out the window. “Whoever she is, I have a feeling that she will haunt me until I find her and find out why.” I sighed and rubbed my forehead and took a seat at the large table where my papers from last night were left to attend to today’s business.
“Anyway, enough about that- let’s get back to business…”

ACYN
After a successful lunch date with my mother (being fully impressed by the way), we head back to the residences to begin yet another round of meetings, then training- my favorite part of the day. I need to work out some of my worries and stress so I can be exhausted enough to sleep tonight, so I kiss my mother good bye and head to the office.
“Where’s Jonathan?” I asked, looking around.
“He had to intercept another one of the pack she-wolves from going into your office. Again. Ashley, I think her name was? It was pretty, um, interesting to say the least,” he smiled and laughed.
“How so?”
“She was, um, very, very um, naked? Left nothing to the imagination. Really flustered Jonathan cause, well, you know. She’s very, um, how do you say it? Well proportioned? He had a hard time not touching her inappropriately as she’s running around your office, my office, his office, the meeting room…” as his eyes wander around the rooms, remembering where she went, and I could only just imagine the scene.
“Oh really now?”, I try not to laugh at the image I have of her making poor Jonathan, a 6’5” tall, chiseled, blond haired, blue eyed wolf, all red and flustered as he attempts to remove her from the offices. Probably failing miserably and touching her everywhere that's inappropriate. I’m really trying not to burst out laughing but I’m barely holding it together, and when he comes back into the room with his face as red as a blood moon, I can't help it. I laugh.
His hair disheveled, red lipstick marks all over his face and shirt collar, and my gods does he reek of cheap perfume. His lips are pressed into a single thin line and he just literally glares at me. Like he wants to kill me.
“You seriously do not pay me enough for this bullshit Ace! I hope to the Goddess herself that I find my mate soon so you can hire some other dumbass to deal with all your horny groupies," stomping off, telling us he’s going to take a shower and try to get the disgusting scent off of him. “She’s spending the night in the cells for her little ‘display’ by the way.”
“Thanks for running interference buddy!” I yell as he leaves, him flipping me the middle finger as he rounds the corner. I can’t hold it back anymore and I burst out laughing, hard, tears coming from our eyes. Jordan joins with me, pouring me a glass of whisky in the meantime and managing to not spill it. After a good 10 minute ab workout of laughter, we quiet down.
Jordan quiets down, then looks at me. “In all seriousness though, are you okay? You seem ‘off’ lately, like you’re really stressed. What’s going on?”
I sigh, and contemplate telling him what I discussed with my father. He will have to take over everything here while I’m away anyway, and I’m bringing Jonathan with me, so I figure I might as well tell him my plans.
He sat and listened intently to everything I had to say, quietly mulling it over in his head and nodding every so often. I really value his friendship, being that he is my best friend. We’ve been inseparable these past years, mainly because his mother was my mother’s nurse while she recovered from giving birth to me. There is literally no one I trust more than Jordan- both for his counsel and his support. I know I can trust him with my life, my pack, and my family.
“Are you up for taking the reigns here for a little while?” I asked him in all seriousness.
“It’s actually a really smart thing to do, and it will increase our finances for sure. Plus, I know how much you like that human city,” as he rolls his eyes at me. “If that's what you feel you have to do then I'm fine with it. Are you going alone?”, giving me the answer I was hoping for.
“Nope! I’m taking Jonathan with me,” I responded and waited for his reaction. He didn't disappoint, his eyes darkening and his lips pressing into a thin, straight line.
“Really? Why does he always get to have all the fun?! While I get the responsibility?”, he groaned and whined.
“Why am I getting all the fun? Where are we going?”, Jon asked with a big grin on his face, returning from his shower. He still reeked though, and when he realized we could still smell him he growled lowly, annoyed.
“Yeah, yeah, I know! I can’t get this crap off of me- giving me a headache. Thanks, for that by the way," he sighed and rummaged through some papers in his spot at the table. "So, what’s up? Where are we going?”
“You and me, going to Crescent City for a couple years, splitting our week between here and there. We need to expand, get our human businesses in order for expansion. You up for that?”
“Hells yeah I am! Two bachelors, out on the town… I can see it now” looking off into the window dreamily.
“If you assholes get to have all the fun and relaxation, then I demand that I hire an assistant for me back here,” Jordan said in a pissed-off voice.
“I was going to offer that actually. I can’t have my beta doing all our work himself- even though you are incredibly capable of handling it. Besides, it’s not going to be all fun and games for us either. I’ll still be doing pack meetings and catching up with you several times a week over online meetings. Besides, Jonathan has to grow up sometime…” I jokingly say, but was actually somewhat serious with that statement.
“At least you don’t have to deal with the human women- they’re even worse than the she-wolves,” Jordy grinned, smirking at the now scowling Delta.
“Oh, s**t. Forgot about that part. Great!” Jon complained emphatically.
“Just one thing is left then I guess...” I trail off as I get a little worried about the person who has yet to give their blessing on this whole thing. Both the guys look at me quizzically, having no clue what I mean.
“Gotta tell mom.”
“Oh, damn. Yeah, good luck with mommy dearest.”
“Gee, thanks you two." Thank the gods I have training first.
