Chapter 1
1000 Years Ago.
"The gods of our ancestors have shown me this thing, I will say to you!" Said the great Akiko with an expressionless face.
His expression had, however, given all the council of Nazirites, with the king not excluded that, whatever the great Akiko has to say to them wasn't something they will be excited about.
His clenched jaw with mixed hidden emotions on his face was already a warning to them that something evil was about to fall on them.
Probably, the emotions on his face were the thought of how to place his words in order not to get them frightened about what's coming to them in the future.
The king and the council of Nazirites stared at him anxiously; sitting very uncomfortably on the wooden chair in the great Akiko's chamber.
The great Akiko has always been known to be the number one greatest fortune teller in the town of Nazirites. His words were their priority: his speech was what they depended on, and whatever the gods of their ancestors had shown him, they would see it coming to pass.
His facial expression made a shiver run down their spines as their legs shook anxiously on the ground. They have been living in peace and harmony, at least, for the past few years. Never had they imagined they would wake up to this unusual facial expression from the great Akiko.
He had called for this gathering at such an early hour of the day, that even the morning sun had not risen yet.
This was so unusual. He only calls for such a gathering in a blue moon, and once he does, it meant something evil was about to fall on them. "What will it be this time?" They wondered, almost panicking.
The king cleared his throat, trying to break the silence. "The great Akiko, can you ease our anxious minds and tell us, desperate descendants, what the gods of our ancestors have shown to you?" Said the king as the council of Nazirites nodded their heads in agreement.
The great Akiko took a sharp breath; afterward, he closed his eyes and then, proceeded, "the people of Nazirites, the gods of our ancestors have shown to me this thing I will say to you now! And yes, just like you've predicted, it's bad news!" He paused as he slowly opened his eyes.
At this point, their hearts were beginning to hammer inside their ribcage as they stared at one another, forcefully pushing a huge lump down their throats with their legs and hands going numb.
Bad news?! In the very early hours of the day? It definitely wasn't a thing they would have predicted.
Even though the king was trying to act confident, he also could feel his heart hammering inside his ribcage as he continued staring at the great Akiko, urging him to continue.
"Ease your fearful minds because the bad news I am about to share with you won't affect us in any way, or, maybe just a little bit. But the main point is... it will be on our beloved children, including the ones that are yet to be born. As we all know, whatever will affect our children, will affect us also, as no one on this earth will love to see our children suffering, right?" Asked the great Akiko, and everyone seated in his chamber nodded their heads simultaneously.
"Most definitely! None of us would want to see our children suffering. Whatever the case may be, we hope that there's a solution. As usual, all problems have a solution and we will be able to tackle them now, beforehand." Said the eldest among the council of Nazirites.
The great Akiko shook his head and said, "In this case, the solution to this problem is not a thing me and you can deal with. Presently, whoever would be giving a solution to this future problem is yet to be known or given birth to."
"Wha... what do you mean by, it's not something you could deal with? The great Akiko, if you can't rectify this issue, who then would? After all, you are the strongest among all." The king countered as the council of Nazirites raised a questionable brow at themselves and then, back to the great Akiko.
"There's a solution, but it is not in my custody to act on the solution being given to me by our ancestors. With that aside for now, here's what will happen in a thousand years from now. According to the date being given to me, which is 10th of June, 1984. A group of Monsters called Descendants Of The Black Moon will descend in Nazirites. These creatures are monsters and they will destroy the Nazirites with the aim of possessing our land. Considering that, it is almost impossible to defeat these creatures, because, not only are they Monsters, they are more, like a Risen Dead. From what the gods of our ancestors have shown to me, it seems like they have one special ability, which is, to possess one's body and make him or her act and behave under their control." The great Akiko explained further with his gaze, not leaving theirs'.
"Monsters will descend in Nazirites? Why? And how's that even possible?"
"They will descend in Nazirites because they believe that Nazirites rightfully belong to them. Trust me, when I say, it will be hell! Whoever experiences the descent of The Descendants Of The Black Moon, will live in hell for the rest of his or her lives."
There was a moment of silence as everyone took a minute to take in the information that had been passed on to them by the great Akiko.
Only their breathing could be heard and the wavering sounds of the weathered leaves outside of the great Akiko's chamber.
This was the first time they heard about monsters descending to earth. They have never thought of such a thing being in existence.
The king raised a brow and asked, "as the King of Nazirites, I was told by my father in those days that Nazirites belong to us! The great Akiko, can you please explain to us how our peaceful land suddenly belongs to Monsters?"
The great Akiko cleared his throat and explained further. "2000 years ago, our ancestors made a covenant with The Leader Of The Descendants Of The Black Moon, called, "Ravana." The Nazirites were having a war with another kingdom and were about to fail. The king pleaded for power from Ravana to win the war, which Ravana gave to him. But before that, the king had to make a vow to Ravana and if he breaks the promise, then they could possess Nazirites and claim it as theirs. I will say, Nazirites stood as collateral in exchange for the power being given to them. Unfortunately, the king broke his promise, and this brought about this prophecy of Ravana and his monsters descending in Nazirites. However, they have promised to descend in Nazirites to possess their land a thousand years from now. You know, in other for you to possess a land, you must eradicate everything in it. This is to tell you that they will kill every human present in Nazirites to fully possess the land!"
After the great Akiko had said this, some stared at him with wide-opened eyes, while others stared at him with their mouths slightly opened. A lot and a lot of questions kept running through their minds but none of them mustered up enough courage to utter a word as the news seemed to have made their mouths completely sealed.
A member of the council of Nazirites mustered up courage and finally got to ask the same question that has been running through everyone's mind, "what you're trying to say is, Ravana and his monsters will kill everyone In Nazirites just so they could possess our land? If everyone in Nazirites is killed, does that mean the Nazirites will be forgotten? Who will bear the next generation to come? There's no way! There's absolutely no way that the Nazirites will be forgotten because some monsters want to possess our land. No way!" he exclaimed furiously.
The great Akiko made a slight chuckle and shook his head slowly, "No way? Just so you know, there are a lot of ways. The possibility that Ravana and his monsters won't descend in Nazirites isn't even up to a percentage. Do you see? Do you see how impossible that is?" He asked as he stared at every one of them for a few seconds and continued, "let's take that aside. The main reason why I called you for this meeting is that the gods of our ancestors have given me an Instruction to hand this over to the king," he turned to his right-hand side and took a book with, "Descendants Of The Black Moon," boldly written on its cover, on a small wooden table as he handed it over to the king.
The king collected the book, raising a questionable brow at the great Akiko.
"The gods of our ancestors have given me that book to give to the king so he can pass it on to the next generation. Though I haven't read it yet, one thing I know for sure is that the answers to what will send Ravana with his descendants back to hell are in that book."
He turned to look at the council of Nazirites who now had their eyes fixed on the book as he continued,
" You are all f*******n from reading this book. Have this in mind, even though you are allowed to read that book, you won't find any answers. That book comprises a lot of details about the descendants of the black moon. However, this should be read only by a person who's born from this royal family. One last thing, though the answers are in that book, only the chosen one can find them. Do not forget to pass it on to the next generation until it gets to the chosen one. But I sense it, the chosen one is yet to be born. Whoever the chosen one would be, the gods of our ancestors would always be with him or her. You may... now leave!"
He said as he turned his back on them, as a sign of, 'any other questions weren't welcomed.'
Even though they still have a lot of questions they would love to ask, they have no other choice than to keep mute and let the questions run in their minds.
They stood on their feet feeling not satisfied as they walked lackadaisically back home.
While walking back home, they had discussed a lot of things about the new burdens in their hearts and had urged the king to read the book. Probably, a miracle would happen and he would be the chosen one to save his people beforehand.
That is, if possible!
