"No, it wasn't what you think, my Lord; it's just that I wasn't proper," I lied.
"Oh, is that so? I understand then. Can you please come to my quarters after you are done?"
My heart started palpitating. Why does he want me to come to his chamber? This wasn't how things were supposed to happen, right? I thought that he wouldn't bother about me since he isn't yet aware of my ability.
"Yes, my Lord," I answered.
Once he was gone, I got up hurriedly. This time I had to escape no matter what, to avoid any incident. I quickly changed out of my night clothes and grabbed my herb basket, rushing outside.
Arla saw me and looked surprised.
"Why are you going for herb picking this early in the morning, and why do you look so energetic?"
I knew she was referring to how I looked yesterday.
"It's nothing, Arla; it's just small bruises, and they are already healed," I ran out before she can ask more questions.
Luckily no one stopped me from leaving when they saw the basket I was holding. They probably thought that I went out for herb gathering.
The moment I stepped outside the park area, I ran as fast as I could, sprinting through the forest. A grey figure flashed and blocked me. It was a werewolf.
"Who are you?" I asked worriedly.
The figure's body contracted, and it shifted into a blonde-haired man.
"Desmond," the name rang in my brain. He was a very evil man and always enjoys torturing the omegas. I remembered in the future he will try to rape me and was caught; Damian was angry and sentenced him to death.
Maybe he will be able to escape that fate in this lifetime.
"Where are you going?" He asked coldly.
"I am going for herb picking," I replied.
"If I recall correctly, this is not the area you use to pick herbs, huh?" He had a smile on his face and walked forward. I started retreating but increased his pace. I made up my mind and ran the other way immediately. He chased after me, I quickly shifted to my wolf form and continued fleeing. Desmond continued giving chase.
Even though I was faster, he clearly knew the forest just like his palm; he was able to use the terrains perfectly and soon he caught up to me and pounced on me. I had no choice but to fight back.
In the past, I wasn't much of a fighter when I just joined the pack. But after many years of fighting alongside Damian, I had gained a lot of battle experience, and even though my body wasn't strong enough now, it was enough for me to deal with Desmond.
I clawed him on his neck and sent him rolling with a deep gash on his neck; he lay on the ground as blood gushed out. He wasn't able to escape his fate even in this life; it seems like he was doomed to die.
I looked around cautiously while licking the wound on my shoulder. I decided not to transform into my human form since I don't have clothes to change into; besides, staying in the wolf form will allow me to run faster.
This was the first time I killed in my second life, and it wasn't a pleasant feeling. I continued running; I didn't know how long I ran by the time I ran out of energy. There was a stream nearby, and I immediately ran to the stream to drink water. I gulped the water greedily and felt the energy returning to my body.
I looked up subconsciously and saw a dark grey wolf looking at me from a short distance away. The wolf appeared tall and huge, and my senses told me that I was no match for this wolf.
I immediately took off and started running again. The wolf chased after me. He was relatively faster and was catching up. I could tell he was an Alpha; his speed was just the same as Damian's, and he even looked faster.
Although my speed is considered to be fast among the other werewolves, I was no match for him.
The Alpha caught up with me and pounced on me forcefully, turning me over. He was so strong that I couldn't even resist.
I was pinned to the ground and had no choice but to revert to my human to show that I wasn't resisting again. The Alpha also transformed into his human form. I saw his face up close. He was so handsome with a well-chiseled face; his eyes were like the abyss, and he had a smirk on his face.
I was dazed and forced to look at him longer. His smirk intensified.
"What? Are you already in love with me, dear? It's our first time meeting; don't you think it's inappropriate to fall in love?" He said, leaning closer to me. I felt something on my lower body and was alarmed. Since both of us had transformed naturally, we had no clothes on.
I had been too nervous that I didn't notice at first. I used my last strength to push him out of my body. He wasn't expecting it, so I succeeded in pushing him away, causing him to roll on the ground.
I tried to run again, but he was already up on his heels. He ran forward and held my neck tightly.
"Where do you think you are going to, my dear?" He said huskily and even leaned closer to my ears. His fingers traced around my body and almost touched my naked breast. My body shuddered involuntarily.
"Who are you?" He asked, raising my chin so I can meet his eyes. Looking at his dark abyss-like eyes, I felt like I was looking at an extremely dangerous creature. All my five senses screamed danger.
"Sheila," I answered.
"What park are you from?" He asked again.
"I don't have a park."
"What do you mean?" He tightened his grip, seemingly not believing me.
"I truly don't have a park; I used to live with my parents in a cave until they left one day and didn't come back," I screamed as hot tears fell from my eyes.
He paused, and his eyes looked a little gentle.
"Did I hurt you? I'm sorry," he made an attempt to wipe away the tears, but I quickly dodged his hands. He grunted but didn't say a thing.
"Overlord, here you are; we have been looking for you." A group of male and female werewolves walked out from the woods ahead. They were surprised to see the scene in front of them. They decided not to talk.
"You are a rogue wolf, so welcome to the family. I'm Zulu," he declared.
"Zulu!" The name rang a bell. Yes, now I remember, the tyrant Zulu. He was a very notorious rogue wolf known for committing many atrocities and crimes, including raping and murdering female wolves. No wonder his face looked familiar.
In her past life, she had seen him once. He had a beef with Damian, and he took me to hunt down Zulu.
Zulu and his men were outnumbered at that time, and he was wounded and battered and looked nothing like his great self now.
"Please, can you release me? I don't want to join your pack; I just want to be alone.
"We're not a pack; we are a family made up of people like you." His voice sounded soothing.
"But I don't want to become a part of your family, please. Can you please release me? Please, I promise never to cross your territory again."
"This is not my territory," he replied coldly.
"Okay, then can you please just let me go?" I pleaded.
"Welcome to the family," he declared and released me. I felt very weak on my leg and had to lean on a nearby tree.
"Kia, get her some clothes," he ordered.
The girl called Kia came forward with some women's clothing. For no reason, she seems to hold a grudge with me.
I didn't think too much of it and went to a nearby cave to change.
When I came out, she nodded at me coldly. "I thought you had no backbone and would try to escape," she smirked.
"If you do, I won't blame you. This is not the paradise that you used to live in. Welcome to hell."
After that, I followed the group deep inside the forest. We walked until we reached their camp. There were a few men waiting in the camp. They immediately came forward to greet Zulu and welcome the others.
They held a little feast, which I wasn't part of. I huddled in the tent assigned to me, and soon I fell asleep.
I woke up with a start; I felt something like my body being violated. I woke up immediately and felt a hand touching my body and moving towards the forbidden zone. I smacked the hand away.
"Stay quiet!" It was Zulu.
