They had two cars, so Georgina followed Lucian while he was driving. They hadn’t eaten yet, and they didn’t have dinner at home. Their date night was ruined, all because of Elena. When they finally got home, Lucian sat down on the sofa, exhausted. Georgina went to the kitchen and grabbed a glass of cold water. She brought it to Lucian and sat down beside him.
“Is pizza okay? That’s the only thing open. And they will deliver, so we don’t have to go out.” The truth is, she didn’t want them to go out for dinner after what happened. It would be risky since the people he fought with might be watching. She would take care of that tonight. She needed to know who they were and what they were capable of doing.
“Hawaiian is good,” he replied.
“Pineapple on a pizza?” Georgina grimaced. She was teasing Lucian because that was his favorite. At first, she didn’t want to eat pizza with fruit toppings. But love can make you do weird things, so she tried it until she got used to it.
Lucian kissed her neck. “It’s delicious.”
Georgina giggled. “You’re such a flirt. It’s like you didn’t just get into a fight. Troublemaker.”
“I want something else for dinner.” From Lucian’s tone, Georgina already knew what he wanted, but she was really hungry, and she knew her boyfriend was hungry too.
She poked him in the side. “Stop being playful. I’m starving.”
“Really? Should I eat you instead?” His eyes were twinkling.
Georgina rubbed her palm against his face. “Take a shower, and I’ll call the pizza place, then you can eat me later.”
She kissed him firmly and quickly on the lips before standing up to avoid being tempted further. Lucian laughed, and when he didn’t stand up, she glared at him. She was now calling the pizza parlor to place an order.
“Hello. Yes, good evening. I’d like to order a medium pizza. Hawaiian. Yes. Two pounds of chicken wings, sauce on the side. Um, honey garlic. Yes, that’s all. Twenty minutes? Thank you.”
Lucian followed Georgina’s suggestion and headed to their bedroom. He decided to check his phone and saw many missed calls. Some were from Georgina, but most of the calls were from an unknown number. There was a voicemail too, and he heard his brother’s voice. It was Lorenzo.
“Papa non sta bene. Sono preoccupato. Richiamami per favore.” (Dad is not well. I’m worried. Call me back please.)
His father is never sick. And after being away from Italy for so long, this was the first time his brother had called him. Lucian called him back, but he didn’t pick up. It was early morning there, so he was probably sleeping. Lucian sighed and took off all his clothes.
Georgina doesn’t like it when whites are mixed with colored clothes. She says it’s easier to do laundry when they are separated. When they first started dating, if he was feeling lazy, he would just toss everything into the laundry basket. He learned the hard way when he ran out of boxer shorts. Georgina hadn’t washed his clothes, and he was late for work that day. Georgina laughed while he was so upset. But it was his fault. She warned him, but he didn’t listen. He even had to stop by the department store to buy boxers. He couldn’t go commando.
Lucian stood in the shower for a long time, reflecting on everything that had happened earlier. He didn’t believe it was just a coincidence. At first, it could have been, but Georgina met Elena this morning. Something was about to happen. He could feel it.

A few moments after Lucian showered, the pizza was delivered. They ate in the living room while watching a random show. They chose not to discuss what had happened earlier. Instead, Georgina mentioned visiting her father. She also wanted to see him, and it was the perfect opportunity to keep Lucian safe. He would be away for a few days and would be off the radar of the people he had fought with earlier.
“This weekend?”
Georgina nodded. “Hopefully, if you’re not busy. Dad is sulking because I haven’t visited him. You know how he is. He can be a bit dramatic. It’s really hard when they get older.”
“I know what you mean. Lorenzo called. Dad’s sick, but he didn’t tell me what kind of illness.”
“Did you call him back?” Lucian nodded. “I did, but it’s early morning there now. I’ll try him again later.”
They continued eating, and Georgina started to think. Would it be selfish of her to take him to Spain? Would it be better for her to accompany him to Italy to see his sick father? Georgina’s father was well, unlike Lucian’s father.
“Do you want us to visit your dad? I haven’t been to Italy for a long time, and I know it’s not a social call. But if you don’t feel comfortable taking me with you, I’ll stay at a local hotel and stroll around.” She lightly tapped the tip of his nose.
“Thank you, baby. But I don’t really want to go to Italy if I’m not needed there. Also, Dad’s heavily guarded. I don’t want you to be exposed to his enemies. You might get caught up if an unexpected fight breaks out.”
Georgina wanted to say that she could take care of herself, but she had an oath. She just nodded. “We’ll play it by ear then. If your dad is okay, can we visit my dad this weekend?”
Lucian nodded. “We’ll go to Spain.” He put his arm around her. “Where do you plan to take me on a date?”
Georgina grinned at him. “A date already? Tsk. I was planning to cook for you.” Lucian burst out laughing. “Why are you laughing? Don’t you like my cooking?”
Lucian almost choked. “Of course, I love your cooking—” He finished the pizza he was holding and grabbed some wet wipes to clean his hands.
“Liar.” Georgina pouted. “I don’t even like my cooking.”
Lucian kissed her quickly on the lips. “I love everything about you, including your cooking.”
“Really?” She knew he loved her. They wouldn’t have lasted three years if they didn’t love each other.
“Hmm. But you know what I like the most?” Georgina waited for him to say it, even though she had an idea of what he was referring to. He cupped her p***y. “This. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, I’ll have it. It’s perfect for dessert too, especially when it’s… creamy,” Lucian whispered to her while caressing her middle. He lightly bit the side of her ear.
