Lady Isabella’s Ogre was originally published as Beauty and the Scarred Hero, under the penname Emily May. When I set about revising it, all I intended to do was get rid of a few exclamation marks and give it a fresh copyedit, but towards the end of the book I encountered a scene that I really didn’t like.
In fact, I didn’t like the last few chapters at all, which was a disconcerting discovery. But being a writer, I had a solution: I rewrote those chapters!
This version of the story works much better for me. I hope it works better for you, too.
