These are two simple words, but they weigh heavily on me. In a good way. I feel like I'm making huge progress. Perhaps I’m doing something right after all. But there’s still a long way to go.
As we finish up the pastry, Evie tugs on my sleeve. “Daddy, can we go to the park and play on the swings?”
I hesitate for a moment. The park is a bit farther from here, and I want to ensure her safety. “How about we go to my house instead? I have a special surprise for you.”
