Two weeks later, I’m working my shift in the diner when Sofia, Liam’s sister, walks in. My attention is diverted to the entrance as always when the bell chimes. She appears to be in a hurry, her dark curls bounce slightly as she moves, her eyes frantically searching the area until they find me. A relieved smile crosses her face, but it makes me freeze.
