Chapter 3 Seth is in bed when his cell phone starts to ring. He picks it up, planning on ignoring it, when he sees Holden’s name on the caller ID. He’s surprised to see it. Holden didn’t text him back the night before, and Holden hasn’t called him before, so out of curiosity, Seth answers. “Hello,” Seth says, clearing his throat when it comes out a little rough. He worked pretty late the night before. “Seth. I’m glad I caught you. I didn’t know when you were going in to work,” Holden says in a rush. “It’s my day off,” Seth explains. “Oh. I’m sorry to bother you then, but it’s kind of important,” Holden says, and he sounds anxious. “No problem. What’s up?” Seth asks, rubbing his jaw. He’s a little achy, and really, he feels like he shouldn’t have so many aches. He’s only twenty-eight.
