The Powerful Luna

Chapter 2

I phase into consciousness, I feel strong arms around me, carrying me. I feel incredibly weak, but I feel so safe at the the same time.

I am out again. 

I feel myself get placed gently on the bed and covered with a blanket as big arms wrap around me from behind. 

Again I am out.

I wake in the morning my senses heightened. I feel Axel’s presence near. I sniff the air, where is he? Close, very close. He opens the door and walks in. His eyes move to mine. He looks shocked to see me awake.

“I am really sorry Jade I wanted to be back before you woke, but I had some matters to attend to.”

I nod and try and speak, I hardly get a croak out. Axel rushes to his fridge and grabs me a bottle of water, then hands it to me. His hand brushes past mine, those sparks again,how can a little touch feel so good?

I look around, I am in Axel’s room.

“No actually our room now, your things will be moved here shortly”

I look at him strangely. He laughs

“Mate link is stronger than pack link remember”

I nod and drink the entire bottle of water.

I look down at myself. Hmm still naked. I look at Axel and his eyes wander over the sheet covering hearing what I am thinking.

I am seriously going to have to work out how to put up walls on this mate link business. He laughs at me and throws a bag at me. I catch it somehow,seriously how is it possible to be so sore? He helps me to my feet. 

‘Eyes are wandering again mister’

I glare at him. He laughs licks his lips and turns while I get dressed. 

I am finally able to speak.

“What happened last night?”

He laughs,his eyebrows raised in a mischievous manner.

“What, the first part or the second part?”

I push him with my shoulder as I roll my eyes.

“The second part you dope”

Then I say playfully.

“I know all about the first part”

He whips around his eyes black and a growl coming out his mouth. He picks me up and holds me against him.

“You are mine now Jade”

I play with his mark.

“And you are mine.”

He smiles and lowers me to the ground. I finish getting dressed. I ask again.

“What was last night?”

“It was your increase in rank within the pack”

I nod, fascinated, I do feel different. 

"Does everyone go through something like that?"

"No Its only for the highest positions, and only in the most powerful packs"

Axel grabs my hand and walks out of the room holding it, our fingers intertwined and a tingle emanating from where our skin is touching. While it feels amazing it might definitely take some getting used to. He nods. Damn mate link. He laughs and wraps his arm around my shoulder pulling me close to him. I inhale deeply taking in that wonderful scent. It completely consumes me. A wave of calm washes over me.

I look at him. 

How did I not know he was my mate?

How did he keep it from me? it must’ve driven him crazy. I try and think back. 

I mean I haven’t seen him with any other girls in the last year. Not that they weren’t all hanging off him.Not only is he incredibly powerful. He is also incredibly handsome. His jet black wavy hair short on the sides and longer on the the top brushed to the right, with piercing blue eyes. His tanned skin. He had an unbelievable physique the muscles sculpted into a perfect body and the aura around him was intense. 

I looked at my mate, he was absolutely gorgeous, how had I never noticed that before? He smirks.

“Because as we found out over the last 2 days you don’t look at me”

I blush heavily realizing he heard me again,opps how embarrassing. I shrug and laugh.

“Damn mate link”

He looks at me and turns my face to his.

“And you are the most stunning creature I have ever laid eyes on”

I scoff and he laughs knowing that I have never been able to take a complement. True I knew I was pretty. But I do absolutely nothing to enhance it. Very little to no makeup. Flat shoes always and baggy tees and jumpers. Nothing that shows my figure.

“You don’t need to do anything to enhance it, you are beautiful as you are”.

Damn it, I blush again. 

Mind blank. Mind blank. Mind blank. 

I suddenly pick up a scent, I grab Axel’s hand and drag him at top speed to the kitchen. I load up my plate with bacon, eggs, sausages and anything else I can lay my hands on. I sit down and start scoffing my face. An omega walks past and bows his head to me.

“Luna”

I screw up my face confused, another pack member walks past and does the same. I turn around and look at Axel, he laughs at my bewilderment.

“Did you tell everyone already?”

Feeling a bit weirded out that everyone knows what we did. He laughs and back through mate link.

‘They can feel the shift in power, just as you did when I became Alpha’

I nod, he laughs again.

“And yes that means everyone knows we ‘did it’”

I turn red. He chuckles again and comes over sits down beside me wraps his arm around my shoulder. He starts eating off my plate. I snarl, he puts his hands up in surrender. Laughs again shoves me softly as he gets up and grabs his own plate. I nod in approval. Stealing my food is a death wish.

We finish breakfast and I am raring to go. He looks at me.

“Want to go for a run?”

I smile widely jump up and take off out the door with Axel hot on my tail. I put my head down and run as fast as my human body will carry me, I feel his breath close behind me, I think he is just teasing me. I get to the treeline and quickly strip. He does the same he looks at me with hunger in his eyes again.

He licks his lips, I bite my bottom lip. Just as he goes to pounce I dart out from under him shift and run. My wolf feels amazing I can feel the new power. ‘tease’ I hear, and sense he has shifted behind me. I laugh and dig my claws into the ground running faster and faster. 

I feel the adrenaline coursing through my body. I can sense Axel behind me, but he is still a fair way behind me. 

I sniff the air. 

Rouge.

'Don’t you dare Jade, wait till I get there'. I ignore him. I sniff the air again and turn rapidly toward the scent. I run straight for it. 

Suddenly out of no where the rouge pounces on me. Pinning me down to the ground for maybe a second. I push him off me throwing him a metre or so and snarl. He snarls back. We pace in a circle looking at each other. 

He pounces again I step sideways easily and grab his hindquarters, and flick him with strength against a tree he stumbles trying to get back up.

I go for the kill shot, snapping his neck with a quick flick of my jaw. Blood slowly running down my snout. 

Axel comes up behind me and growls. 

I drop the rouge. 

He snarls at me

"Shift"

I shift, looking down. I stand there butt naked with blood running down my face over the dead rouge. I look up and look at Axel. His eyes brimming with rage.

“I told you not to, Jade, what were you even thinking, your wolf is 3 days old. You have no idea what you can and cant do, you have new abilities and new strength that you haven’t even started to learn how to wield, everything is new for now and this type of situation is not how to test it all, if I tell you to wait you better wait”

He snarls. I look straight in to his blue eyes. He softens and wraps me in a tight embrace, his strong arms engulf me.

“I am just trying to protect you, you are my everything. Don’t put yourself in unnecessary danger, what if something happened to you?"

I nuzzle his chest and feel his strong near frantic heart beat start to slow and he kisses my head softly. I do understand why he so upset with me, Once a wolf loses their mate, more often than not your wolf cant go on and you die too. I nuzzle him again. I have to remember that I am not just out for myself now, I have Axel,I have to protect myself for Axel’s sake as well as my own.

“I am sorry Axel”

He holds me close wraps his arm around me and start walking back to our clothes. I shift knowing it will take forever to get back to our clothes and he shift beside me. He is a monstrous black wolf with the same piercing blue eyes as Axel’s. I nuzzle the soft thick fur of his neck and we run together back to our clothes.

There are things I want to finish from before. I hear a jaw snap beside me,I can feel his canines with precision gently brush my skin through my fur, sending a wild shiver through my body. We bypass the clothes and run straight to our chambers as wolves. We shift behind closed doors. I admire my mates incredible body. He doesn’t admire me for long before he grabs me and throws me roughly to the bed jumping on top of me.

I throw him off, he is a little caught off guard by my strength then groans in pleasure as I sling a leg over him and have my way with him.

I wake, feeling kisses on my neck and an arm wrapped around me. I smile and roll over to nuzzle in his chest before finally opening my eyes. I take in all that is my mate. His gorgeous features, his muscly body. Then I push him in the shoulder playfully.

“What the big idea with waking me up?”

He lunges over me holding both of my hands to the bed pinning my body to the bed. I thrust my pelvis into his, loving feeling the show of dominance.

“Training time”

He kisses me quickly and jumps up.

“But I have to go to school”

“Well that’s why we are up at 4”

I roll my eyes as he throws my tights and training bra at me. Then think twice and also throws me a baggy tee.

“Can’t let others see the goods”

I roll my eyes again and get dressed quickly, feeling his eyes on me. He goes to come embrace me I laugh and shove him as hard as I can, throwing him toward the wall. I laugh and run out the door. I hear a deep chuckle behind me and foot steps gaining quickly.

I dig deeper running as fast as I can.

I reach the training grounds with him a step behind. I throw my arms in the air jumping around victorious. He laughs and wraps his arms around me kissing me deeply.

We hear a cough behind us. We part and look around at my brother Jasper pretending to dry retch. Axel releases me and regains his composure standing tall as he looks at me, straight back to Alpha mode.

“Right, every morning we train your human for 2 hours at night after school we train your wolf 2 hours”

I open my mouth in surprise .

Is he serious? He has always trained me hard, but never this hard. 

Even the pack warriors only train for 2 hours a day, and most of them don’t have to go to stupid bloody school.

“What the f**k, Axel are you serious?”

“Don’t question me Jade”

I roll my eyes and glare at him. He definitely doesn't need mate link to know how I feel.

“Fine, whatever, just leave, I will see you later”

I snarl at him, perhaps a bit more vicious than I was expecting. He raises his eyebrows at me, slightly taken back. No one talks to the Alpha like that,but he has to learn that I am now his Luna, he can’t just boss me around like he can with the rest of the pack. I am meant to be his partner not his subordinate.

I can see his mind ticking over whether he wants to discipline me or not,  know his Alpha wolf is pushing him to do it but if he is reading my eyes the way he should be able to after knowing me for so long he should know that it will go down like a tonne of bricks if he does. I am not sure if he is ready for my fury

“Just leave”

I say walking away from him, I don’t even want to look at him anymore plus it will be of zero benefit to look him in the eye right now unless I am ready to go toe to toe with the alpha, which I am not. I turn to Jasper who walks alongside me.

“Why does he want me to train so much?”

Jasper just shrugs. I jump in the ring and start hand to hand combat with Jasper. My strength has increased so much, I keep up and actually land a lot more hits than usual. We finish up and I walk back into the pack house.

I scent Axel in his study. I am still pissed at him, I want to ask him what he is thinking with all of this, but I know we are just going to end up in an argument. I run into the room have a quick shower and get dressed into a pair of denim shorts and a high necked singlet. Still aware of my very raw looking mating mark. I slip down the stairs. Not without first hearing a growl behind me from up the the stairs standing at the door of his office.

“And you think your going to school dressed like that?”

I roll my eyes and stick up my middle finger at him with my back still facing him.

Fast as lightning he is down the stairs arms wrapped around my waist kissing my neck. I manage to swivel in his embrace turning to him and pushing him away.

“Give me some space”

“Don’t be like that babe”

I scoff and in my best alpha dominating voice I imitate him.

“Don’t question me”

I roll my eyes again turn my back to him and walk out. Feeling his eyes on me as I jump in my car and speed off.
