Chapter 10Snow falling soundlessly in the middle of the night will always fill my heart with sweet clarity. —Novala Takemoto Theo was leaning against the brick wall in the alley behind the old post office. He’d picked up a baseball bat at the sports shop on the way over—blue. There hadn’t been blue bats when he was a kid.
