Bailey took the day off of school today and Wes decided to stay home to keep an eye on her. She hadn’t come out of her room since she left us last night. When she said she should have known better because of what happened to me, my heart broke. I never wanted my experience to negatively shape her view on love. My sister deserves to be happy. “Call if you need me. Don’t forget it’s Wednesday,” I whispered to Wes on my way out the door. He nodded sleepily from the couch. The sun was shining bright today and the rays hitting my skin were a very welcome change. It was still bitterly cold, but the sun made it feel as if the temperature was bearable. I walked into the coffee shop, greeting both Piper and Gabriella with a bright smile. “You’re awfully chipper today,” Piper smiled.
