The Truth to The Chronicles

There was dust and smoke everywhere, Johnathan stood up and unsheathed his sword. The Katana glistened under the moonlight, he stood there carefully watching and anticipating an attack from whatever monstrous thing was haunting him. “Must be a demon- it must be- only those lowlifes could do this-“he said to himself. He was alone and vulnerable- had no one to help him, no Farid nor Solomon or the Clan HQ could come to his aid. His main objective was to go after Billy so he had to wrap up this nasty business as soon as possible. But it was dead silent and eerie. There were bloody and mangled corpses everywhere- the place was dark and cold and something was crawling in the shadows. He looked around, holding the Katana with both hands and suddenly he saw something move in the darkness. His throat went dry as he saw it- “Corpse- the corpses- Oh God, they- they’re moving- “he muttered. A mangled, distorted corpse that was lying lifeless a few minutes ago was trying to stand up straight- something was reanimating it- bringing it back to life. Then another bloody corpse started to move and then another. Within a few seconds, all the dead bodies were reanimated and moving clumsily towards him. “What? Zombies? Man this is nuts-“he said. He knew these zombies were no match for him- he could take them all out with a single blow. He needed to find the one responsible for the death of those people- the thing that turned them into zombies. As the undead army slowly crawled towards him at a snail’s pace, he felt a cold and evil presence right behind him. Someone was out there, in the darkness, watching his every move- he turned around and immediately felt a bone crushing punch to his face. The punch was so powerful that it almost knocked him out- his sword fell out of his hands and he came crashing down on the ground. For a moment he blacked out and when he opened his eyes, he was lifted into the air by someone and was about to be thrown away. He came to his senses and struggled and grabbed the enemy’s arm and somehow released himself from its clutches. He landed on the ground and picked up his sword again and glanced at his enemy. The man was more than six feet tall and muscular- he had long wet hair that covered his face and he slouched a little and swung slowly from side to side and wore a long black trench coat. He could hear a low groan coming from his mouth- it almost seemed as if he was a gigantic undead corpse himself. “What the hell is that thing? Its strong- it can’t be a zombie-“Johnathan said to himself. The gigantic man looked clumsy and slow but he suddenly rushed at him with full force, trying to crush his wind pipe. Johnathan rolled to the side and as he did so, he swung his sword at his left leg. The sword tore through his limb but there was no blood or pain instead it only made him more violent. His zombie army stood by like obedient minions as the gigantic man of a monster fought. Johnathan picked himself up and gripped his Katana with his both hands and aimed his sword at him- a peculiar samurai style of sword fighting. He had to end this quickly- he raised his sword and brought it down on the monster, right over his head but to his surprise, the monster caught his sword with one hand! Johnathan tried to push and pull but the more he struggled the harder the monster gripped the sword. Then the monster gripped his throat with the other hand and choked Johnathan who tried to release himself. As they began to struggle, Johnathan saw the monster’s eyes- they were human eyes but they had no soul in them- blank and white as a piece of paper. The throat grip was getting tighter and Johnathan was choking harder but then in the heat of the moment, he felt as if he knew everything about the monster. His brain opened up the knowledge portal that previously was unlocked by Brother Farid’s grace. He recalled that he had the ability to learn about any demon or monster’s strength and weakness- their abilities, their origins and how they can be subdued and killed. Yes! This was what Farid had taught him earlier before they were arrested and taken away by the police. He looked into those pale lifeless eyes and he saw everything within a couple of seconds. That thing currently choking the life out of him was what was known in ancient Nordic culture as the Draugr- a dead medieval soldier brought back to life by black magic. They were very strong and menacing, liked to roam around during the night looking for fresh human flesh and by day they would get back to their graves. They liked to stomp on the roofs of people’s houses to wake them up at night and scare the hell out of them. Johnathan saw as clear as day as this knowledge displayed right in front of his eyes like a TV screen. But there was something else he saw- HITPOINTS! Hit points were basically the measure of strength in a monster or a demon. The more the Hit points, the stronger the creature would be- they ranged from 0-100. Currently the Draugr’s hit points were at 86, which that meant he was very strong. And the most important thing that Johnathan saw was the monster’s abilities and weakness. Abilities: Great strength and muscle power, Can rip up human bodies into pieces with bare hands. Weakness: Pauses a few seconds between attacks, regains strength and attacks again. Bright light can distract the Draugr… The information lasted for 3 seconds and Johnathan understood how to defeat the monster. “That’s it- I need to free myself and wait for an opening-“he thought. He held the Draugr’s hand and called forth his abilities- the metal arms shone with power and the light distracted the monster. Johnathan immediately freed himself from its grip and fell back…
