1. Confrontation
I stood in the middle of the room; my eyes glued to Naomi. She stared at me with a closed mouth and her eyes turned to Dale, who stared back at her as well. I wanted to hear her tell me that she was done with me. Say it to my face.
"Did you call him?" Naomi asked Dale.
"Of course he did." I told her. "He thought I would want to hear your sad excuse for a lie."
"It's not a sad excuse, Kain!" Naomi shouted, getting off the bed.
I crossed my arms and continued staring at my baby mama. She turned to Dale and shook her head at him, furiously. I waited for her to say something else to me. But, Alias stopped her, crying from within his bed. Naomi turned to the bed and walked m forward.
"I'll get him." I told her. "I'm still waiting for you to answer me."
The fact that I came in on them almost f*****g was not the problem. Siblings f**k all the time. The thing that bothered me was the fact that she tried to lie and tell him that she had no types of feelings for me. Not that I give a f**k about her feelings. She was just just my baby mama. I walked over to the bed and picked Alias up. Holding him close in my arms, I turned my attention back to Naomi.
"So, do you still have feelings for him?" Dale asked, getting off the bed and standing across from her.
I smirked as I glanced down at my son who was back to sleep. Her emotions was one of the things I could feel since I took blood from her.
"I don't know." She whispered.
"It's either yes or no." He told her. "If you don't, then you need to tell him that. If you do, then I will leave you alone. I can't mess with someone who still has feelings for an ex."
"Never an ex." I corrected him. "We never dated. I just f****d, so don't mix it up."
Placing Alias down in his bed, I turned my eyes to Dale. He just glared at me with hatred and I loved it. The smirk I had on my face earlier reappeared.
"You're an asshole." Naomi said to me.
"An asshole you got pregnant by." I reminded her. "Don't forget that."
She closed her mouth and stared at me for a minute. Her heart beat was racing in my head. Naomi sighed and tried to walk out of the room, but I grabbed her by the arm, pulling her back to me.
"Don't try to run." I told her.
"Get off of me." She whispered, trying to blink her eyes to keep from tearing up. "I need to be alone."
I released her and she walked out of the room, leaving Dale and me to ourselves. I chuckled and Dale shook his head at me.
"You love making her sad, don't you?" He asked me.
"She makes her own self sad." I said, unbothered by his question.
I looked down at my sleeping child one last time before I headed towards the door.
"Why won't you release her?" Dale asked me. "I would be a better man for her and better father figure to Alias."
I turned my head to the side and smiled.
"Let's see if you can turn a broken girl into housewife." I told him.
"She's broken because you made her that way." Dale blamed me. "So, don't blame her for that."
"She wanted something I was not looking for."
Dale walked over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Why are you scared to love?" He asked me. "That's what she is looking for."
I turned my head to the front and walked out. I walked down the stairs and left his house. Dale was a fool. Love made a man weak and I was not the one to be weakened. As I walked out, I saw Naomi leaning against my passenger side, staring up at the night sky.
"He's asleep." I told her. "You can go back inside with your brotherly boyfriend."
"He's not my boyfriend." She told me.
Her eyes looked up at me and she bit her bottom lip. I sighed and looked up at the sky myself.
"I have to go." I told her. "But, before I go, there's something I'm going to tell you."
I looked back at her as I moved closer.
"What?" She asked me.
"Just a warning, so listen. That little indecisive s**t you got going on will cause problems between him and me. You need to decide what you want to do."
"I know who I want." She told me. "But… He doesn't want me."
Shaking my head, I walked to the driver side, ready to go home. When I placed my key into the door, I felt a pair of hands on my back. I turned around and looked at Naomi.
"Will you come by again?" She asked me.
"Only for my son." I told her.
She sighed, but nodded her head to me.
"I don't love." I told her.
"You need to start." She told me.
"It's not for me."
She rolled her eyes at me and walked back towards the house. I hopped in the car and started it up. Then, I sped off. As I gotten closer to my house, all I could think about was Naomi and Alias.
"What the f**k?" I asked myself in a whisper.
Why was she on my mind? I did not want her, so what was it that had my heart faster than usual? Was it Dale's words? I chuckled as his mind went back to what he said to me when it was just us two in the room. Dale wanted to be a father to my son?
"That was never going to happen." I told myself as I turned on my street.
I got to my house and saw Kieran and Karla waiting for me. I pulled up to the driveway and put the car in park. Once I turned the car off, I hopped out and walked over to them.
"Where'd you go?" Kieran asked.
"Dealing with my baby mama and her dumb ass brother." I told them.
"Please tell me Dale had not fallen for her?"
"Then I won't tell you."
Karla shook her head in disgust.
"That's gross." She said.
"It's actually not." I told her. "Vampires are known for incest. It's part of our nature. But, Kieran and I, we don't agree."
I walked over to my front door and unlocked it. The three of us walked in and Karla took a seat on the couch.
"How's Alias?" She asked me.
"He's fine, now." I told her. "Dale said he wants me to step back so he could be a better father for him."
"Ha, what a f*****g joke!" Kieran exclaimed.
I eyed him and a smirk appeared on my face once more for the night. Every vampire knew what the consequences are when another man tries to father another's child. It was even going to be worse for Naomi as well. And she'll wish she would have stayed in my house, then.
