Initially, Grégoire had no idea what to do when plans for their going out changed. He had no clue either when Dallie would be done hanging out with her mother. When she hadn’t replied to his text, dread seized his heart. Had she changed her mind about dating him? Still, they couldn’t talk about it on the phone, even if he wanted to. Dallie seemed to be adamant about him not meeting her mom. Yet.
He watched as the two women entered the boutique. He did feel like a creep doing this from a good distance. And then, Dallie’s mother looked out through the glass wall and saw him standing outside. He pretended not to see her and discreetly retreated, away from her line of vision. Dallie, on the other hand, hadn’t noticed him hanging around.
