It was time to leave and Nova said his farewell to the family before heading for the exit. Ivan had insisted he stayed a while longer so they could sit for a couple of drinks but Nova declined saying he’s got somewhere else to be at the time. Mrs Peyton had gone the extra mile to package some cookies she had baked earlier for the family and gave them to Nova to take home. Everyone was grateful to Nova and he could tell that he had won them over with his quick thinking. And even though it was not exactly the kind of recognition he needed, and would rather be acknowledged as Cassy’s partner, it was something he was content with in the moment.
