Mira called Nova, her voice laced with urgency. "Meet me at the restaurant on 5th street. I need to talk to you about something. Don’t be late."
Nova arrived, his curiosity piqued. They ordered their food and sat in a quiet corner, away from prying ears.
Mira leaned in, her eyes sparkling with determination. "I saw Cassidy leaving Dave's house this morning. I'm sure she slept there last night."
“What do you mean?” Mira's words hung in the air like a challenge. "I'm telling you, Nova, I saw Cassidy leaving Dave's house this morning. She must have spent the night there."
Nova's eyes flashed with anger, and he slammed his fist on the table, making the silverware jump. "That's it, I've had enough!" he growled, his voice low but menacing.
