Chapter Four

He clenches his jaw but doesn't say anything. "Can I please speak to you alone?" I nod, words escaping me. We walk through the house into a random empty room. "Listen, Amelia. I know I've been acting bipolar towards you since we found we we're mates, but I do care about you and I'm sorry." I nod awkwardly. "Yeah, okay. I just need to see consistency from you before we can do whatever we're supposed to do." He nods disappointedly. "I can do that." Neither of us talk for a minute and then Finn takes me by complete surprise. "Sorry." He says before pressing his lips against mine. He's gone before I can even respond. "Let me take you home, we don't need to talk anymore tonight." He says, turning away from me. "Okay." I say softly. I follow him to his car, forgetting about my friends. *** We are both silent as Finn starts to drive. We haven't put a name to what we have but its pretty obvious that we are serious about what we have. We are mates. We are each others one and only. Forever. In a normal relationship between humans, our relationship would be moving at a crazy pace. Way faster than normal. For us however, this is normal. Perhaps even slower than normal. We've known each other at least 5 days now, and only just kissed. This was definitely abnormal, and no doubt Finn wanted to move faster. But he was taking my obvious doubt into consideration. Which was the sweetest thing he ever could have done for me. "We need to talk about us." Finn said pulling me from my thoughts and taking my hand in his. I remained silent. I knew what he was going to say. "I want to be with you. You are the most important person that will ever be in my life. I know however, that you are skeptical of me." I stayed silent because I did doubt him. However that doubt was quickly fading, the more time I spent with Finn. I knew the longer I spent with him, the quicker I would fall for him too. "I will prove myself to you. You need me as much as I need you." With those heart melting words, he had pulled up to my house. I swallowed whatever words I was about to say and took off my safety belt. "I guess I'll see you at school." I said unconvinced. Finn stayed silent. He seemed disappointed that I hadn't commented on what he had previously said. With a heavy heart I climbed out of the car, hating to part from Finn. "I will win your heart." Finn said before pulling away from the curb. *** It was Sunday and I had been lazing about all weekend, waiting with anticipation for Monday to arrive. This was definitely a first for me, usually I cherish my weekends with all I have, but now all I could think of was seeing Finn. How would he act? More importantly, what was he willing to do to win my heart? I wasn't about to tell him, but without him even trying, he was winning my heart. *** Its Monday. My nerves are shot and my hands clammy. I'd woken up early and had been tossing all night thinking about Finn. I was exhausted yet wide awake. I took extra time getting ready seeing as I was awake so early, and ended up looking a lot nicer than usual. Somehow, even with my early start, I managed to run into school 5 minutes late. The bell had already gone so I was getting detention regardless if I took an extra 5 minutes to get to class, so I slow down and stroll to my locker. The hall was deserted and I was alone. "Boo." My heart skips a beat when I spin around to find out who had nearly given me a heart attack, and find none other than Finn himself, staring back at me with a goofy smile on his perfect lips. I have no clue how he managed to sneak up on me because I DO have werewolf hearing but somehow he had. I was going to smack him and be mad, but I was finding it extremely difficult when he was looking so damn cute. "You nearly gave me a heart attack! What the hell Finn?!" I say breathlessly. He shrugs, even making that look hot, and stares into my eyes with his big brown puppy eyes. "Sorry, I just couldn't help myself." He says all innocently. I glare at him unconvinced. He was in a carefree, happy mood and it was making me melt. "As you can tell, I'm late and now I need to go to the office to get a detention slip." I say moodily. "No need. I got yours when I went to get mine." Finn says. "How?" I say, confused. "I was late as well, and I knew you would be too since I couldn't find you when I arrived, so I offered to give you yours when you arrived." "Thanks I guess. I should get to class now.." I say without really meaning it. He looks back at me, seeing right through me and knowing what I was thinking. In a second he's almost pressed against me and I feel his breath on my ear. He smells just amazing. "See you at detention baby." I manage to keep my moan in, and simply nod my head. With that he walks off to his class, leaving my staring longingly after him. At least I had lunch detention to look forward to. Another first for me. I HATE detention but not today, today I would be with Finn. And I couldn't wait.
