It had been raining now for two days. The moisture in the air went a long way to dampen the city’s spirits. Before the court convened, she received the initial reports of the slaughter on the far border of Perdition, and the reports continued to trickle in. She was tempted to ride out and inspect the area for herself, but she knew the people in the city would need her to be present and strong.
