CHAPTER THREELord Langford had said that he would be ready to leave the house at eleven o’clock. Yolisa had not slept very well. She was worrying as to what she should say and what she should do on the great adventure to save Kavalla. However the sun was shining brightly in the sky and the birds were singing in the trees. She put on one of the day dresses that her uncle had chosen for her and thought that it was extremely pretty. It was the pale green of spring leaves and matched her eyes. And it also enhanced her fair hair and her white skin. With the dress was a little jacket to match and an extremely pretty hat trimmed with flowers. When Yolisa went downstairs, she only wished that her father could see her. Lord Langford was waiting for her in the hall and, when she appeared, h
