Something catches my eye rolling away on the floor. HER PENCIL! What a b*tch! I kick the pencil away so she can’t use it as ammo again. I won’t stoop to her level. I am just going to sit here and pretend she doesn’t exist.
I take some time and do the cross word puzzle. It was overly easy, in my opinion. Every once in a while, I can hear Stacy Huff, but I just push it out of my mind and let her act like a baby.
Thankfully, the bell is going off for the last period, and we don’t share that class. I get up fast and walk out the door. I have no clue where Jayce will be coming from, but he will at least be at study hall at some point. I should just head straight there.
“Ahh!” My ankle is in serious pain. I fall onto the locker along the wall to keep myself standing.
I get most of my composure back just to see Stacy smiling at me like a psychopath. Did she just stomp my ankle in front of everyone. All of the other students’ faces look just as surprised as I am sure mine does.
“What the hell, Stacy?”
“I am making things clear to you now, right?”
“What, that you are crazy and take cheap shots?”
“The only one that is cheap is you. My dad is a cop and I heard all about your foster dad killing his wife before himself. Once Jayce hears how you are just a poor trashy foster kid, he will run right back to me.”
“He was never with you, and you don’t know what you are talking about, you bimbo.”
“Oh I don’t? I would bet any amount of money your actual parents went the same way just to get away from you. They probably knew how much of a loser you are. They..”
I don’t know if she said anything else. All I hear is loud banging sounds along with my heartbeat. I can’t even see anything it is all just red. It’s not until I feel hands on my hips that I realize what is happening. I give Stacy’s head one more forceful slam into the locker before my body gets lifted up and away. I watch as she crumbles to the ground, and I shake the strands of her hair out of my hand.
“What happened here?” It’s Jayce that pulled me away. His touch is soothing me, but the lack of adrenaline is bringing back the pain in my ankle.
“My ankle!” I try to hold onto him to take the pressure off of it. Once he sees what’s happening, he picks me up bridal style.
“She kicked my ankle in hard. Then she started saying stuff, and I just lost it.”
His face shoots towards her angrily.
“Can we just get my stuff and leave? I don’t want to come back” I say, snuggling my face into his chest. Thankfully, my mind is too busy for me to cry, so I don’t even have to worry about it.
“Anything you want, baby.” He walks over to my locker while everyone is surrounding Stacy.
He shifted me over so that most of my weight is on one arm. Then he used his other arm and hand to get my stuff into my backpack. He is so amazingly strong that it takes almost no effort at all to carry me and my bag.
“Hey! She can’t just leave.” The principle tries to stop us.
“You can talk to her lawyer in the morning. She has been assaulted and needs medical care.”
The look on the principles face was priceless, to say the least. He didn’t even know what to say as Jayce walked past him, holding me.
As we walk out to the car, reality is hitting me. I just hurt someone. I completely lost it back there. My ankle freaking hurts. Did he say a lawyer was coming? I need to slow down and think this through.
Jayce opens the car door and sets me down carefully so I don’t bump my head on the top of the door.
“Let me push the seat back so you can rest you ankle comfortably.”
After a few tries, I finally managed to find some what comfortable potion to sit in.
“Jayce where are we going?”
“Back to the packs clinic” he says before shutting the door.
I don’t want to go back there. Today is not turning out so well. I can’t help but feel dejected. I went out today feeling fresh and new, but jealousy and anger have taken over my day. Hopefully getting away from school will help. Work shouldn’t be a problem. Except now I can’t go and I really wanted to talk with Mr. Woods .
Jayce gets in and turns on the car.
“Jayce can I use your phone to call work?”
“Check the glove box. I got you a new one.”
“What?” I open the glove box and find a new, expensive looking cell phone. It has multiple cameras and is big in my hand.
“The pin is 1234 until you change it. I put Rio’s, Cedric’s and my number in it. I also have the number for your work in there as well.”
“This phone must have cost you a fortune on top of getting that other one I lost. I feel like I should pay you back.”
“Look in the glove box again but for an envelope with your name on it” he says, driving back towards the pack.
“Okay?” I open the glove box again and pull out the envelope.
“Do I open it?”
“Yeah, check it out.”
I open the envelope and find a bank card with my name on it.
“How were you able to get me a bank card? This isn’t even the bank I go to.”
“That’s because it’s a bank card to our account. I added you to my account so you will always have money. I also want to give you a few hundred to carry in cash just in case.”
“Wait this is way too much! We just started dating officially today. Don’t you even want to see if we are mates?”
“This isn’t too much, Gwen. This is only a small portion of what I want to give you. Goddess, I want to give you love, pleasure, and happiness. Things that are far beyond money. This bank card is just one of the many things I plan on doing to take care of you. Now that I messed up and let you get hurt, I plan on doing everything I can to make you feel better. This feeling I have in my heart is the only proof I need to know that you are my mate.”
I sit quietly until we pull back into the garage. Jayce gets out of the car, and I put the stuff he gave me into my backpack. I can talk to my boss later. He wasn’t really expecting me anyway. Jayce opens my door and scoops me up into his arms.
“Don’t worry about your bag. Rio will get it when she gets back.”
I put my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek. He stops and looks at me, and I take the moment to kiss his lips. Something about kissing him feels as natural as breathing. When I pull away, I look deeply into his magnificent eyes.
“Thank you for everything, Jayce. I know you are still going to beat yourself up, but this wasn’t your fault or your fight. That girl has issues beyond belief.”
“I have to agree with you on that part.” His mood lightened up, and I feel a little better.
“Gwen, how about we try and salvage what’s left of this day?” he asks as he carries me to the clinic.
“How I can’t do anything?”
“We will see what the doctor has to say first and get you settled into your room. After that, we can hang out all day. We can watch movies and have dinner in your room. I will have to finish fixing up your door, too, of course.”
“Sounds good to me. I haven’t watched a movie in years.”
After another fun filled visit to the clinic, we found out my ankle was going to be just fine. It is pretty bruised, but with my werewolf abilities coming in, it shouldn’t be a problem after today. That’s if I stay off of it and ice it, that is. Jayce brought me up to my room in a wheelchair and has helped me into bed. I have to wait for Rio to come back to see Goldie.
I hear a knock on the door, and Jayce answers it. A meek little woman walks into the room behind him.
“Gwen, this is Lily. She will be taking care of you until I am done with the doors. She has worked for my family for about 20 years now, and I trust she will take good care of you.”
“Are you sure that’s necessary, Jayce? I don’t want to bother her.”
“ It’s not a bother at all, miss. I have ice for your ankle right here” She holds up an ice pack that she’s been holding.
“Well if you don’t mind, I suppose it’s alright. “
“Good!” Jayce says, clapping his hands together. “I will be back in about 15 minutes, I just have to grab some tools.” He kisses me and walks out the door.
“Miss here is your ice” Lily says softly. She gently sets the ice on my bruised ankle.
I make a small hissing sound when the coldness touches my tender bruise.
“I am so sorry, Miss! Please forgive me!”
She falls to her knees with tears in her eyes. She keeps begging for me to forgive her.
“please calm down Lily it just was cold. It didn’t even hurt. Please don’t cry.”
“Your not going to punish me?”
“No of course not! Why would you think that?”
“ The word is that you’re the next Luna, and Luna Cooper always gives me 10 lashings when I make a mistake.”
“Oh Goddess Lily, I would never lay a finger on you. Does Jayce know about this?”
“No, no one knows. She does it in secret to all the she-wolves that serve her. I thought since rumors amongst omegas are that you will be Luna, you would be the same. I am sorry. Please don’t tell anyone about this. She isn’t going away until Jayce has a Luna, and she will make our lives hell if she finds out I told someone. “
She begins sobbing deeply into my bed. I try to pull her up to me, and she lets me. I hug her and pat her back.
“I am not going to let this happen anymore, Lily. You have been through enough. Don’t worry about it, leave everything to me.”
Jayce walks in and sees me holding poor Lily.
“What happened?” He asks, looking worried.
“Your mother” was all I could get out before his entire demeanor changed.
“Was she here? What did she do?” He asked with clenched fists and venom in his voice. It gives me a cold chill seeing him like this.
“She wasn’t here at all. It’s just that she has been giving poor Lily here brutal physical punishments in secret along with the other women.”
Lily gets back on the floor with her head down.
“Please Alpha, I beg you to believe me, but do not say a word or she will be furious with me.”
“Lily, if I would have known, I would have put a stop to this a long time ago. I am the Alpha now, and she no longer has the power, remember.”
Lily shakes her head lowly.
“For now, you will only work for Gwen and I. My mother will have to deal with only male servants until next week when they leave the pack.”
“Thank you, Alpha! Thank you so much!”
“Jayce this is something we should talk about. You never have spoken of your family in detail.”
“We will, later. I need to get the rest of my stuff. Lily, would you mind bringing up a drink tray, please?”
“Yes Alpha, what would you and the Luna like on it.”
She just called me Luna it feels kind of off since I am not one yet. I can’t correct her because she might cry again. So I bite my cheek and let Jayce answer her.
“How about some water, lemonade, Coke and an ice bucket. Is there anything else you would like, Gwen?”
“No thank you. That sounds perfect” I try to sound happy, but now I have much more than thirst on my mind.
“See you in about five minutes baby I have to get something I forgot.” He says, giving me another kiss. The kiss was so hot and tender that I moaned in his mouth.
Well, at least that took some of the edge off. I wish I was more experienced in the s*x department. Maybe if I dare get some confidence, I can ask Rio some questions. She has a mate so she must know something about it. I could be thinking too far ahead. I still can’t believe that this God like of a man wants anything to do with me. He has given me everything I could want in just a short time. I am really feeling like I can trust him. Please Goddess don’t let me be wrong. Let this be the real thing.
