Chapter Three

2064 Words
Brianna: I was staring at the handsome God that walked into the room, my heart pounding away in my chest. He was staring at me as well, dark grey eyes rimmed with gold meeting mine. He was extremely tall, maybe about 6'5, 6'6, which was way taller than my 5'3 stature. He had broad shoulders and I could see from the mostly likely custom three piece suit that he had on, that he worked out; probably daily. The pants he had on clung to his perfect muscular legs, and I couldn't help it when my eyes drifted across his... Package. He looked huge. My eyes flew back up to his and I couldn't help but blush when I saw the cocky smirk on his face. I heard Egor clear his throat and I forced my attention away from the Greek God to him. "Brianna, this is my son Viktor... He's going to be your partner for the next two years until you could handle running the business on your own. Viktor, this is Brianna. I don't think I have to tell you what your responsibilities are." He shot Viktor a look, and he rolled his eyes. "Yes, father. I'm aware of my responsibilities. But I have no doubt that you're going to be on my back for the next two years." "Damn right. Brianna why don't you meet us by the elevator for that late lunch? I need to have a word with my son." Egor muttered and I nodded. "Of course. It was nice meeting you, Viktor." I held out my hand for him to shake, but he took it, placing a soft kiss on the back of it. Goosebumps traveled up my arms from that simple contact and I fought the urge to shiver. "The pleasure was all mine, love." He purred, letting go of my hand with a soft stroke of his thumb. I scurried out of there quickly, heading to my office while fanning my red cheeks. Jesus Christ, he was intense. I took a few deep breaths to calm myself, before grabbing my bag and walking to the elevator. Not too long after, I see both men walk out with scowls on their faces, but I refused to ask any questions. It's none of my business. I pressed the button for the ground floor, where the parking garage was located and we all got into the elevator, me standing in a corner with my arms folded across my chest. The tension in the air was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. When the elevator doors opened, I walked out ahead of them, heading for my car. My arm was grabbed and I stopped short when I felt those same sparks, my head turning to see Viktor looking down at me. "Where are you going?" He asked. "I'm going to my car. I'll be following behind you and your father." I said, to which he shook his head. "No, you will be riding with us. Come." He began dragging me into the direction of the waiting limo, but I wrestled my way out of his strong grip. No man was going to manhandle me like that no matter how sexy he is, and how great he filled out that suit.... You have a boyfriend, Brianna. Focus! "I'm going to say this once, and only once. Do not ever manhandle me like that again. I don't appreciate it. Also, I would rather take my car and meet the two of you at the restaurant because it would be easier for me to get home. So please, move out of my way and let me get to my car." I folded my arms and stared at him, waiting for him to move, but he only grinned. What the f**k? "I like the feistiness that you have in you. It makes me wonder how you are in bed." He murmured, and I scowled. "You f*****g misogynistic b-" "I wouldn't finish that sentence if I were you, sweetheart. Now get in the car. This is my last time asking." He said, and I couldn't help the frustrated hiss that came out. "Listen here you- What the f**k?!" Before I could finish my sentence, I was hanging upside down on his shoulder with my bag dangling loosely on my hand. It took me a few seconds to recover from the initial shock, before I began hitting him with my bag. "Put. Me. Down!" He ignored me, only placing me down when he reached the limo where his father probably had a clear display of his caveman tactics. He opened the door and stared at me, waiting for me to get in. "I told you-." "Yes, I heard your argument about wanting to take your car, but that's not happening. You're coming with us. Now get in." He said, and I glared at him, really wishing that looks could f*****g kill. I slid onto the seat, avoiding Egor's eyes as I sat opposite him. How embarrassing! How dare he handle me like that in front of his father? I huffed quietly as he slid next to me, sliding my body further away from him. Egor started up a conversation with me, breaking up the heavy tension in the car, and it wasn't long before he had me laughing at one of his silly jokes. We reached the restaurant in thirty minutes and I stepped out of the limo, ignoring the brute's outstretched hand. I walked ahead, pretending not to notice the heated discussion going on behind me with the father and son. "Good afternoon, how may I help you?" The hostess asked as I approached. "Good afternoon. We have reservations under Markov?" "Yes... Right this way." I followed behind her to a table in the back, where Viktor pulled out my chair for me to sit before taking his own seat. Huh. I guess chivalry isn't dead after all. I could feel his eyes on me as I stared down at the menu, trying to figure out what I wanted. "Take a picture, it will last longer." I said dryly, refusing to look up. "Pictures don't compare to the real thing." He said and I rolled my eyes. "I've never been here before. What would you recommend from the menu, Egor?" I asked the older man, who'd been silent the entire time. "I usually have the steak, but since Elena has been on my ass about my health, I've been having the chicken and shrimp. It's really delicious." He said, and I nodded. "Chicken and shrimp sounds good." A shrill ringing could be heard and Viktor excused himself from the table, walking away. "Brianna, I wanted to say this before Viktor comes back. I've noticed the way he looks at you and I could tell he has taken a liking to you. Now, whether you like him back is none of my business, but I need you to be careful around him. He's my son and I love him, but he changes women like he changes clothes, and I don't want him to hurt you." "Thank you for your concern, Egor but I assure you nothing is going to happen between us. I'm in a committed relationship and I love my boyfriend." Even as I said those words, I wasn't sure about them anymore. They felt like a lie. I think I was trying to convince myself more than him. "Be that as it may, I know my son and he would stop at nothing to have you. I just wanted to warn you." He patted my hand at the same time Viktor returned. "What are we talking about here?" He asked as he sat, his eyes never moving from me. "Nothing of importance." Egos brhshed it off, looking down at the drinks menu. "Good afternoon, I'm Cassie and I'll be your server for today. Can I start you off with a drink?" We were greeted by a young woman who couldn't seem to take her eyes off Viktor. "Yes, we'd like to have a bottle of Domaine Etienne Guigal." Egor said, closing the menu. "Um, of course Sir. Are you all ready to order?" She asked. "Yes, I think we are. I'd like to have to chicken and shrimp." "I'd like to-." I was cut off by her addressing Viktor. "And you, Sir?" What. The. Actual. f**k. "I'll have the steak." He muttered, not bothering the spare her a glance. She looked a little put out by this, and I almost snorted. "And you?" I rolled my eyes as she turned to me with a less than pleasant attitude and was about to answer her, when Egor stepped in. "We'd like to have a new server please." Her jaw dropped and she stared at him in shock. "But Sir-." "I don't want to hear it. You've been less than professional ever since you stepped up to this table. I'm not going to allow you to disrespect this young lady in my presence, just because you have some sort of fascination with my son. Now go." She scurried away and I looked at Egor with wide eyes. "You know, you didn't have to do that." I said. "I did. She was being unprofessional and slightly disrespectful. She's lucky I'm not notifying her manager." He did have a point. A new server came to us, this time a man, and I ordered the chicken and shrimp as well. The conversation was kept light, and I got to know Viktor a little better. Aside from being a massive man w***e, as his father puts it, he is actually a successful business owner. He is in charge of Egor's entire empire, and runs his own construction company. Pretty impressive, I must admit. He's a terrible flirt, which meant that Egor kept scolding him ever few seconds while my cheeks remained with a permanent blush. When it came down to the bill, we all argued as I wanted to pay for my own meal. Egor insisted that this lunch was on him, while Viktor looked at me like I was crazy for even asking. Men. Jeez. I gave up eventually, allowing Egor to get the bill settled. "I need to go back to the office to get my car." I said as we settled into limo. "Don't bother. I'll be picking you up in the morning." Viktor said. "What? Why?" "Because I said I'll pick you up. Now what's your address?" "Hold up. I never agreed to you picking me up in the morning. I have a car that works perfectly, so I don't need you to. So please, kindly inform your driver to take me back to the office where I can get my car." I said, and he only smiled. "I love that fire. Keep it up. But no, I won't be telling my driver to take you back to the office. I already told you what is going to be happening. Now if you won't give me the address, I can make a call and have it within two minutes. I wouldn't bother to ask the old man in front of you because I know he wouldn't give it to me." He directed the last part at his father who rolled his eyes. "Damn right I'm not going to give it to you. We've already had a discussion about this." Egor responded. "What's it going to be?" Viktor asked, ignoring him. I considered my options for a moment as he took his phone out of his pocket. I reluctantly gave him my address and he gave it to his driver. The ride to my place was long, but Egor kept me entertained with all the wild stories of his youth days. When we arrived to my place, Egor stopped me before I left the car. "Brianna, I won't be in the office tomorrow. I have some errands to take care of, and I thought it would be the perfect time for you and Viktor to get used to working with each other." He said, and my eyes widened. "Um, alright then." I left the car after bidding them both goodbye, before walking into the building. Miss De Luca! Good evening, how are you?" I smiled politely at the manager as I walked past the concierge desk. "I'm doing great, thanks for asking. How are you?" "I'm doing fine. I have a package here for you." Je handed me a box and I thanked him before making my way to my private elevator. I used my key card to access it, before pressing the lone button that was there and putting in my code. The doors opened into my foyer and I put the box down by the table in the middle of it. I kicked off my heels, picking them up in my hand and walking through the living room, stopping short when I saw a lone figure sitting there.
