“Dude! I got in at Purdue!” Jonah came running up to me.
We just got done with weight training and we’re finishing up with our showers so we can go home. Football season ended months ago, but me and my friends we still did our weight training daily.
College football would be no joke and we wanted to be ready. Show the college football coaches that we might be freshman, but we could play a mean game. That was our plan for next season, when we went to college to play.
“I'm glad for you bro. I can’t wait till college. Football, girls, and parties.” I laughed.
“I heard Jill got into Penn too. That girl likes following you around Eric.” Jonah said to me.
“Jill is just a nice girl Jonah.” I said to him.
I grabbed my book bag and then turned to him and said “Besides, her t**s are way too small for me. I like ones I can actually grab.” We both laughed.
We headed out the locker room to our cars. In a few months time, I’m going to be playing college football and this high school will be just a memory for me.

It is freshman orientation. I am with all these other kids who look lost and confused at this school like I do. I had moved in two weeks earlier because of football.
I knew college football would be harder than high school, but didn’t realize how much harder. The first day I went to practice, my ass was so sore. I felt like I really didn’t know the game after that practice.
I am glad I wasn’t the only one. I met a few of the other freshman players and we all agreed, high school doesn't prepare you for the beat down we just got.
Only one freshman stood out, that was the quarterback, Liam Andrews. That guy was a machine. I almost thought he had practiced with pro players before he came to college. He was unreal with how he played.
He laughed when I asked him that night in our dorm room. We were roommates. I like the guy, but I really think he has a secret to why he plays so damn good for a college freshman. I’m a good player too but damn, I’m like a toddler right now and he isn’t.
I’m looking at this map of the campus and trying to listen to the cute girl that’s our tour guide explain these buildings to us.
“Why did they have to give us the hot chick to show us around? You know we will not remember anything she says.” Liam groaned to me.
“I know, right? Mikey said on Friday there is a huge party at the football house to welcome us. All I’m thinking is, man I hope this tour guide is going to be there to welcome me.” I laughed.
“Hmm, now that is a tour I would remember!” Liam laughed.
“Eric?” A soft voice I heard call my name.I turned to see Jill.
“Hey Jill. Wow! Good to see you. I heard you had gotten into Penn, wasn’t expecting to see you.” I said to her.
“Yeah, I know. You are the first person I have seen from our class. I know 10 others got in here, so this surprising to see you in my tour group.” Jill said to me.
“Liam, this Jill Kelly. We went to high school together in West Virginia, Jill this is my roommate Liam.” I said..
“Nice to meet you Jill, Liam Andrews. I am from Pittsburgh.” Liam told her.
“What dorm are you guys in? I got Reed Hall.” Jill asked.
“Actually, we are there too, on the third floor.” I told her.
“Oh, I’m on the sixth floor. Maybe I will see you again then.” Jill said to me.
“Maybe, never know.” I replied to her.
Jill left to go chat with some other girls, Liam turned and asked me “Was she your girl in high school?”
“Jill? Nah. She is just a nice girl I knew there. I could never be with Jill. Not my type.” I told him.

I pulled into the driveway of this colonial style house. This was the legendary football house, me and my guys have moved into it. We are the ones that rival the Hockey House over who throws the best parties.
My game is on fire. I have come so far since freshman year when I thought I was going to die and curse high school for not getting me ready for college football.
I became best friends with my freshman roommate, Liam. We both got accepted into the football house to live. We knew they had no reason to deny us, he was going to be captain and I was co-captain in our senior year of playing.
As I was walking towards my house, I noticed a convertible buzzing pat with girls all hanging out of it yelling. Definitely sorority girls, but one caught my attention, Jill.
Jill surprised me, she rushed a sorority and got in. She was still the nice girl I knew in high school, but I saw a side of her I never saw before, the carefree side.
Because she was in the second popular sorority, Delta was the most popular one on campus, Jill and I ran in the same social groups since I was a football player. So I got to see her often throughout the 4 years here at school.
Plus, there were a few classes we had together over the years too. So I had a study buddy with her, in that respect. I think Jill is probably the only female friend I have ever had.
“Looks like the sororities are moving in.” Mikey said to me as he came up behind me.
“When did you get here?” I asked him.
“Um about 30 seconds ago? You didn’t see me pull in because your eyes were glued to the chicks in the convertible.” Mikey laughed.
“Hey what can I say? I see pretty girls and I’m going to look.” I laughed at him.
“Who else is here?” Mickey asked me.
“Big John moved in a few days before me. Liam and Jimmy are moving in tomorrow.” I told him.
“The stallions are in the house.” Mickey said.
“Stallions? You want to call us the stallions?” I asked him.
“Yep, because we are all studs, looking for mates to mount.” Mikey laughed.
Football and girls, this is the life we lead here at college. This is going to be a hell of a year for me. I’m living it up in my final year here at school, next year I will be in the pros with my guys doing what we love the best, playing football.
