Book Two Tackling The Tight End: Chapter 4

842 Words
Jill School was back in session. First day of classes, everyone looked like lost sheep rushing around trying to find buildings. I got to the health science building for my anatomy three class I had to take. When I got into the class, I was surprised to see Eric in the class. “I thought you were pre law, why are you in anatomy 3?” I asked him. “I needed one more science credit, my guidance counselor got me in here. She said, it would be good in case I do become a lawyer in case my NFL career doesn’t pan out.” Eric said to me. “That makes no sense. First, I know you will be in the NFL and two, how does this help you in being a lawyer?” I said to him. “I don’t know. One more way the school gets money I guess. They make you take classes you actually don’t need so that you are well rounded.” Eric grumbled. “Yeah, I remember our freshman year, the government class we were mandatory to take.” I laughed. “Hey, that was the easiest A we ever got. I mean all I had to do was show up on that first day, sign in sbd you never had to go back. How much easier can it get.” Eric laughed. “The professor is coming. Can I just sit here?” I asked him. “Sure, I might need your help with this class anyway, ms pre med.” Eric laughed. “Deal, Mr NFL.” I said to him. After class was over, I looked at Eric who looked like he was about to throw up. “You ok?” I asked him. “Did he really say we had to do cadaver dissections?” Eric said. “Yeah, it is part of the lab.” I said to him. “Why did my guidance counselor put me in here? I don’t want to be with dead people.” Eric said. “I don’t know, hey walk with me Eric.” I said to him as the next class was starting to walk into the class. We left the room and started to walk out of the building. “What’s your next class?” I asked him. “I got time until 10am.” He said. “Me too, till 930.” Come on, let's go get coffee.” I told him. As we walked to the cafe, I said to him, “look, don’t think of it as dead people. This is the human body. It is actually quite remarkable.” “I saw some remarkable bodies on some girls.” Eric chuckled. I stopped Eric from walking further and made him look at me. “I’m sure, ok think of those remarkable bodies, the way that body was underneath you she was panting and breathing, probably like this.” I said to him. I closed my eyes, and imagined Eric was on top of me kissing me. I shallowed my breathing and panted like we were being intimate. “Jill! What are you doing?” Eric asked. I opened my eyes and put a hand on my hip. “Was the girl not doing that when you are on top of her?” I asked him. “Yeah, but why are you doing that?” He asked. “The lungs, they let us breathe, they also control that panting when we are in a fit of passion. Think of it, the two organs in our body, it’s remarkable how they can control those things in us, allowing us to live.” I told him. Eric looked at me, then said “You have a point, and you 're definitely very visual in helping me understand how remarkable our bodies are.” “You always learned better by seeing, not reading.” I said as I started walking again. ——- Eric Jill remembered I’m a visual learner? That was in high school when I found that out. I can’t believe she remembered that. I didn’t say anything to her as we walked to the cafe. We got a latte and sat down at one of the tables. “On a serious note, I have no idea how I can pass this class and keep my GPA up to play football. Maybe the guidance counselor really wants to sink my football career.” I told her. “You are not going to sink your football career. We are both in the same class, so we will study together. I know you Eric, I will help you. You keep the GPA up.” Jill said. “Why do you want to help a dumb jock like me?” I asked her. “First you are not a dumb jock. Two, we are friends, don’t friends help friends?” She said to me. “Thank you, yes we are friends and yes friends do help friends.” I said to her.
