Chapter 6Gethin Cwm Rheidol was one of those places you maybe didn’t think about visiting if you were a local. Gethin hadn’t been up there for years—the last time had been with his cubs pack he thought, to visit the Butterfly House. It was on the mid-Wales tourist-trail, with a nice flattish walk around the lake and a tea-room, perfect for a family day out. Today it was too early for a herd of tourists with young kids to be there. They left the car in the car park and strode out down the lane with a nod to an older couple with a young collie who were even earlier birds than they were and were coming back the opposite way. They were both wearing full hiking kit, with waterproofs and hiking boots and those metal poles. Even their dog had some sort of impressive Dog Hiking Harness. Gethin
