Avery I blinked my eyes open. “Am I a dragon now?” Erik laughed and pulled me against him. His solid warmth was welcoming as I felt shivery after the heat left my body. “Impatient.” He chuckled into my hair. It felt anticlimactic; I seemed like me, not dragon-y at all. “How long did it take?” “Eight hours, twenty-six minutes,” Erik said, brushing my hair from my face and gazing at me. “Wow!” I snuggled closer to him. I pulled in some deep breaths, appreciating the sense of closeness and belonging with Erik. His hands stroked my skin. “Can we mind link now?” “Not yet. Your dragon is forming, and she’s created a shell around your mind. Like a dragon egg. If we’d only marked, we could link, but bringing your dragon forward means she is forming and will bring the full bond with her.”
