Selena POV:

"He said that you agreed not to tell anyone if we stop picking on that maid." She sounded like she was whining all this out. I was curious to see if she was crying but instead, I held my breath and kept quiet. Ethan was silent. "Look, Alice we are done and it has nothing to do with Selena." His voice was assertive and firm. I had never seen him like this before, he was always the quiet kid in the corner. "Ethan, please!" She whined, I think she tried to shove her way in but I could hear Ethan standing firm, "please leave! Now!" His tone was commanding and sent chills down my spine, "what are you hiding from me Ethan?" Her tone changed now, she sounded demanding and angry, "is that slut in there with you!?" She growled and I could feel my heart start to race, she was being loud. What if they searched my room and found I wasn't there? Oh Goddess! I had the worst luck in all of existence! My hands were sweating profusely as I waited to what Ethan would respond with, "Alice, I'm going to mindlink your father or some guards. You're the one that cheated, I think it's ironic how you're here accusing me of sleeping around." His voice was calm and devoid of any kind of emotion but still I was freaking out. "Ethan, please!" She whined again, it was like rapid mood swings were her thing because she kept falling in and out of demanding and begging. "That's it," said Ethan, "what? What did you do? Who did you call?" Her voice was panicked and strained and again, I could hear her trying to push her away inside the room. "Alice!" Boomed the Beta's voice, "daddy," she whispered, "please ask your daughter to stay away from me or I will be speaking to my parents about the harrassment she is dealing towards me and my staff." Again, Ethan was firm and authoritative like he sounded so full of confidence, come to think of it, it was like when he kissed me. He was different than I expected. "Son, I am sure that whatever is going on here can be resolved between the two of you?" Suggested the Beta in a calm voice, "she's been f*****g my best friend Isaac and on top of that she is here accusing me of cheating when she and that bastard did it in my bed and Goddess knows how many times!" He had raised his voice but the emotion didn't feel genuine to me, "is this true Alice?" Asked her father, "daddy," she whined as she sobbed. Nothing else was said as they left. I heard the Beta grab his daughter and leave and I heard her whines all the way as got further and further away. Ethan finally locked his door and dead bolted it, I was still too afraid to move. I heard his soft foot steps approaching the closet and I put on my bravest face. He opened the door slowly and looked sheepishly at me, "I'm sorry," he whispered and I tried to smile at him but I was extremely shaken up. "I didn't think she would show up, honestly, no one ever comes to see me in the middle of the night so I am sorry." I shook my head at him, "it's okay, honestly I'm glad she came," I felt just as surprised in myself as he was at my words, "we were going too fast. There's something about you Ethan and I don't know what it is but it makes me act in a way that I don't think I would ever act." He nodded as he listened and I took a deep breath before continuing, "I don't know how to navigate these feelings so please I need us to take it slow." He reaced out his hand and I hesitantly placed mine in his, "I like you and I agree, slow is the best way to take this." I felt the corners of my mouth prick up into a smile, "I have to go back to my room now." He looked reluctant to let me go but nodded, "I'll walk with you," he offered, "wouldn't that be too suspicious?" I asked feeling myself clam up with anxiety, "no, I will just say that I summoned you to clean up the mess that Alice made outside my door." "What mess?" I asked as I c****d my eye brow, "well, her scent and stuff, no one asks those kind of questions. So we will be fine, just trust me." I bit my lip unsure, "fine." I gave in but had a bad feeling about all of this. He opened his door quietly and stepped out into the dark passage and then pulled me along with him and together we blended with the shadows as we looked out for anyone as we scurried to my room.
