Although I’m aware of the danger in what I’m suggesting, I’ve never felt more calm or filled with purpose. It’s crystal clear to me that I was brought here for a reason tonight, and that reason is to help Bree. I don’t know exactly what she’s been through, but I believe every word she says, and if she wants out of here so badly that she thought trying to run away in the middle of a party was the only way to achieve it, then I’m willing to take the risk involved in helping her to escape.
My heart hurts for her when she asks if I believe her. From the timid tone of her voice and the plaintive look in her eyes, it’s obvious that she hasn’t had anyone on her side for a while, but that changes now.
