"But I'm the one who raised Sterling Group!"
Sarah protested, her voice tinged with disbelief and frustration as she faced her grandfather, Warreck, in the vast Sterling Group conference room.
Warreck’s gaze hardened his mouth, a thin line of disapproval.
"That doesn’t prove you’re the best!" he snapped back. His eyes then flicked to Jack, Sarah's husband, with a venomous glare, the anger visible in the tightened muscles of his jaw.
"And if your husband hadn’t ruined our cooperation with the Norman family, the Fontaine family would be even stronger!" he accused, voice rising with barely -contained rage.
Sarah felt her chest tighten, but she held her ground.
"They started it, Grandfather! Hazel was bullied and almost harmed by their child—I couldn’t just stand by and let that happen."
