C85- Back To The Future

Colton's POV

After we give a solemn prayer for those warriors who track down the enemy, the king received the mind-link from Beta Connor.

"The third batch and fourth batch warriors follow Royal Beta Connor. They now spotted the enemy's lair so we should attack them now." The King said.

"Yes, King Amoux!" The warriors said and they march to the portal that the witches provided them to have a shortcut. We wait for hours for the warriors to come back.

After a long while, the portal opens and the warriors, witches, and Beta Connor come out from the portal with victory. We cheer and we celebrate our double victory on this day.

Everybody was happy about the celebration. The witches arrange everything and the food and drinks. The King caught our attention.

"Royal Packs of the Kingdom of Letotian may I have your attention, please!" King Amoux said.

"Yes, King Amoux!" The pack said in unison.

"Today, we celebrate our double victory! And there is a man behind this success. We owe him this victory. And tonight we would like to thank him." The King said to the crowd. And the crowd cheer! The King's eyes landed on me.

"May I call the man behind this success, Colt Campbell!" The King shout. The crowd cheers and claps for me. I stand, thank the crowd, and wave my hands to them. Then we continue the party. The King called me.

"Colt, I'm really grateful for your intelligence and skills in war and your tactics were effective. So I want to award you to be one of the generals in our Kingdom." King Amoux said.

"Oh, my King Amoux. It would be an honor to me to be you general but I cannot accept your offer, my king." I said. The king was surprised.

"B-but why you reject my offer? Is there anything you desire other than my offer? Tell me, maybe I can grant that." King Amoux said.

"My king, there is nothing I can desire but the peace and harmony of our kingdom. Is that I cannot accept your offer because I am not meant to be here." I said. The king's creases appeared in between his brows.

"W-what do you mean by that?" The king asked.

"I mean, my king. I know you wouldn't believe me but I have to tell you that I am from the future. I am Colton Campbell, I live long with you before but this war diminished many lives including you." I said staring at him. He was stunned by what he heard. The king chuckled.

"You are funny. What stupid words you said." He said.

"I told you, you won't believe me. Here is the cache of my King Amoux. How did I know that the enemy will attack today? How did I know their plans? How did I know their possible hideout? I have arrived here two days ago. This has happened before. That is why I know." I said to the king. I heard the gasps. I look behind me and I saw my father and the young Colton.

"Y-you mean, you are m-my son, too?" Father asks as I don't know how long he listened to my conversation with the king. I nod.

"Yes, Father. I am your son." I said.

"Then y-you are my true brother?" Young Colton said.

"No. I am you. I am the older version of you." They are speechless.

"Yes. He is telling the truth, my king... Adolphus." Mother said with a bow for the king.

"I am sorry to interrupt your conversation. But this is my son, the older version of my young Colton." Mother smile at me and young Colton.

"Then how did this happen?" The king asks.

"Yes, Constancia. How did we interact with him when he is from the future?" My father said.

"Because this is just a dream. We are here in Colton's dream. He was trapped by the powerful sorcerer of his time. He was trapped in somnium loop spell." My mother said. They are gasps.

"W-what? A somnium loop spell?" My father said.

"Isn't a dangerous spell that can trap your soul in a dream?" The King said.

"Yes. That is why we have to look for something that can awake him voluntarily, my king." Mother said.

Again, I told them my story of how I was trapped in this dream but this time, not only mother is listening: the king, my father, and the young version of me. I also told them what the future looks like. They are fascinated by my stories.

"So what happened in the past? These wars. Is war ended?" The king asks.

I told them. what happened in the past. How the King fought and died in the last three remaining wars that the king bravely fought. How his ancestors honor him in the future. Even the death of my father with the king, though it is painful as I remember, I told them the details of the wars and how they ended. Now, the war might continue because it was written in the prophecy. How I escaped and the others. How we hid from the current vampire king. And now, how I found his grandson without my knowledge that if my mother was not told me, I didn't know it was him.

The king comes back to the palace and we come home.

"My son. I am proud of you for what you achieve and you live longer than us." My father hugs me tightly when we are inside the house. His eyes were moist and he choke.

"Thank you, father. It's hard to live without you and mom. And I missed you so much." I hug him tightly. Mother sobs and even the young Colton.

"My child, come with me." My mother pulls my hand from my father and we go to my mother's secret room. This time, father and the young Colton go with us. Mother puts herbs and spices again. The rest of us watching her. After she has done, a purple fog envelops me and she chants a spell. Then she remove her tear shape necklace from her neck and put it on me.

" My son, this is my gift for you that I didn't give you before the last time we've been together. Now, I am thankful for this opportunity to give you this. This necklace is from our ancestors. This is a powerful necklace. In time, it will help you and save you from danger. So always keep this to your body, my child." Mother said and kissed my forehead.

"My only regret is that I never teach you the witchcraft to protect you and use it as the weapon for any danger you face. But now, I don't have to worry for this necklace is powerful. I am always with you, my son, will not living you, like this necklace. Think of me whenever you are in danger and need help. The necklace will guide you and help you." Mother said lovingly. My father hugs me and the young Colton tightly.

"Now it's time for you to come back where you belong, my son. Remember my words to you. You don't spend too much time here. It will be dangerous to you." Mother said with tears in her eyes. Then a light shine between me and my mother so shine that it hurts my eyes to cover it. Then when it faded, I've been in the dark. I saw a galaxy when I open my eyes.

"Did my mother put me in the universe wrong? How can I come back to Earth this time?" I said.

"Mother! Mother! Bring me back to Earth! Why did you put me in the galaxy?!" I shout. Hoping that my mother can hear me still and bring me back to the castle. I let a frustrated sigh.
