Elliot's POV
Allyson's face paled when he heard me. Did he have a deep relationship with his friends in just a short time? I asked myself as I observed him. I hope I mistook him.
"W-what? Did you say that Colton and the twin killed, uncle Muffy?" Allyson asks. Shocked is written on his face. I nod in my reply.
"H-how it did happen?" Allyson asks. I don't know how to answer him. My heart feels tight because of my emotion. Good thing that grandma Alice saves me.
"Allyson, I think this is not the right place to talk about these things. Our General and some are resting in peace here. It is not good to make noise. Let us go back to the castle and talk about this matter. Now, that Uncle Muffy is in resting now, let say our last farewell to him, and let us give thanks also to the former higher ranks of our family who died for us and to our people. Let us pray solemnly, too, to the Moon Goddess who gave them to us to serve us until their last breath." Grandma Alice says.
After grandma Alice said that, we all bow our heads, I close my eyes, and silently pray from the bottom of my hearts. I recalled the happy times I spend with uncle Muffy and his stories of wars, adventure and love. I will miss him.
"Let us go back now to the castle." I heard Grandma Alice says. I open my eyes then and compose my self.
"Don't tell me that we will back on that bridge, grandma?" Allyson said in horror. I smile.
"Yes, where else do you want to go out? Do you have an option?" Grandma says.
"Granny, are you sure there is no other exit to this place?" Allyson ask her. Grandma Alice gives him a scornful look that I almost chuckle.
"Grandson, the Bridge of Death is the easiest way to go here and out. Just follow the instructions, the rest of the gates are more dangerous than this one. Believe me, my grandson." Grandma says tapping Allyson's cheeks and she proceeds to walk towards the gate where we entered - The Pheonix Gate of Death.
"Oh," Allyson said. He has no choice but to Follow her. We silently follow them. I walk besides him to his guard. Grandma waves her again to open the gate for us to go outside. When we did go out, we back again to the bridge more in silence and carefully this time. The bats are flying again in the air and the fogs are thicker than before this time. We succeed to pass the bridge although we have difficulty seeing the bridge because of fogs we held in a rope tightly and carefully walk to go back to the ground.
We are now back in the deep forest again with the golden tree, but now the tree is back to its normal colors and features like before. I can see again the curiousity of Allyson in his face in the tree. I glance at the tree.
"Ah, granny, what do you call this tree?" Allyson ask curiously. Granny glance back at the tree and turn to look at Allyson again.
"This tree is called a Tree of Death."
"Oh," Maybe Allyson see the changes about the tree this time. The tree looks like death now.unlike before we enter that it looks alive and vibrant. It changes its color and the leaves are gone at this time.
"At dawn til night this tree looks like a dead tree but in the morning it is the alive tree as we see it before we enter its gate," I voluntarily explained to him.
"Oh, fascinating!" Allyson said.
"Hmm," I agree with him. He look back at the tree.
"Let us go to the castle now," Granny said. I raise my hands and a portal appeared before us when I heard grandma Alice's request.
"Your highness, you first before the prince," I says. Then granny enter the portal before Allyson then the warriors. I close the portal after I entered. I
We are in a corridor of the library.
"W-where are the warriors?" Allyson ask.
"Don't worry they are in their post now, guarding our territory and the castle," I reply.
"Oh, so where are we?" Allyson ask.
"This place is the most forbidden place in the castle," Granny says to me. Allyson furrow his brows. I stare him for a moment looking for his memories if he remember this place or not, but he can't remember. I sigh.
'Let us go inside. Let me show you something." Granny says. Allyson look at me. My face is serious this time following my grandmother Alice's order.
Grandma goes to the giant closed door that has intricate designs of vines and leaves that each leaf has a white circle that looks like the moon. Grandma's eyes glow white and the intricate designs of vines and leaves are moving, then the circles are glowing light like my granny's eyes. When it stops moving, the door was opened. The room was dark at first but when granny swish her fingers and the lights were on. The lights spread out to the room. Allyson is quiet but keenly onserving what is happening in each details.
"Oh, fascinating!" Allyson said. Granny smirk.
"Did you not remember this place?" I ask. He furrow his brows at what I said.
"Why? What is this place." He ask me as he look over the place. I decided to keep quiet and let him discover the answer to my question later so I shrugs my shoulder and shuts my mouth.
I inserts my hand at the back of the shelves then the wall opens the secret door. We go inside then the door, and the door closed again. it's dark but but I produce lights through my pointing finger. Now we can see the stairs, follows it to go down.
