Tiffany's POV
I am making my rounds when my mobile phone rings. I finished checking the current patient in front of me and take note of my remarks for her record before I picked up my phone from my pocket to answer. I was surprised when I saw the name Carlos Wolfe on the screen. I pressed the answer button.
"Oh, hello Carlos, it's been a very long time since I didn't hear from you. How are you? What's the matter?" I happily greet him while I close the door of the ward's room. I walked towards the corridor of the hospital wings. I was blinded by the sun's rays so I stood on the wall in the corner so to avoid the sun's rays.
"Hey, Tiffany. Thank Goddess you answered my call at last! Where are you now?" Carlos asked.
"I'm in Odda Medical Center. Why?" I replied.
"W-what?! Why are you in the hospital?" Carlos stammered. I heard the worry in his voice
"Well, I'm working here," I said to ease his worry for me.
"Oh, thank goodness! I thought something bad happened to you. This time what kind of job do you do?" Carlos asked.
" Don't be so overdramatic. I'm a doctor." I simply said.
"Whoah! Wow! Good, I think you can help me with your line of work. Where are you living now?" Carlos Asked.
"I live in Odda, Norway. So what do you mean you need my help? Are you in trouble? Where are you now?" I replied.
"Hey, I'm working as a policeman. I am chief in a small town here at Seward Park. I'm not in trouble don't worry but I need your help. Can I visit you there?" Carlos said.
"Oh, you want to come here?" I was surprised.
"Yes. Why not? Don't you want me to visit you at the same time I want to talk about this matter in front of you? You know it's inconvenient when we talk on the phone regarding this matter." Carlos said. I sense this is urgent and important and I miss Carlos. It's been a century since we did not see each other but if we're not busy we talk on the phone. But this happens not so frequently as the pouring rain.
"Oh, ok. As long it's convenient for you. Tell me then when you arrive. I'll see you at the airport." I said.
"Ok. Thank you, Tif. I will book a ticket and inform you soon when is my arrival." Carlos said.
"Ok. Bye then. See you." As I hung up my phone.
I am Dr. Tiffany Brent. I work here at Odda Medical Center which government Center here in Odda, Norway. My house is just a ten-minute drive here. I live here for 10 years now. As I received a call from Carlos Wolfe this morning, I feel that something is amiss.
Carlos's POV
The missing teenagers and murders are spreading all over the place in the peaceful town of Seward Park, which gives me headaches. The people here in town who live a quiet peaceful life is living the opposite this time. It's been twelve weeks since the first victim of a dead body we found at the back of the house of Jones's family but still no leads. The police authority worked twenty-four hours every day to solve the case but nothing succeeds. I deep sighed. I lit up my cigarette and puff the smoke.
I know it's not humans who killed the victims but I couldn't understand where the children go after the abductions. I do speculate that the abductions and killings were connected. I am chief police here in Seward Park and live here for fifteen years now. I heard a knock on my door. I put my cigarette on an ashtray.
"Come in," I said.
"Good morning, sir. Here is the latest update from the forensic department of the dead bodies and our report about the abductions." Officer Gonzales said as he enter the room.
"Give me that. Have a sit." I told him. I get the envelope to envelop from him, opened it, and checked.
It's the photos of the new victim and the report from the forensic department, but still the same as the previous reports, with no lead. The blood was drained and the heart was missing from the victim's body but there is still no evidence that the chest was cut nor a hole in it, to get the heart. I know the one creature lurking around to suck the blood but who was the other one that gets the heart of the victim without a cut or wounds in their chests? And some idiots do not believe in another creature walking around this Earth who harms humans. I'm pretty sure that if I told the answer to my superiors and the others they will laugh at me, worst, not believe what I said, and will be suspicious to me that I am mentally ill.
"Chief Wolfe, what do you think about this case? It seems it's inhumane, right?" My subordinate asked me. I stared at him deeply. I know this case was very intriguing.
"S-sir, I-I'm sorry if I asked about these." Then he stopped talking and his head down. I sighed.
"Officer Gonzales, do you think or do you have any idea who is the killer is or a gang or group that doing this inhumane killing?" I asked him with seriousness. He lift his head and looked at me.
"Sir, I don't think you will believe me. So I don't want to say it to you." He said. I raise my brow.
"Why not? Try me." I encouraged him. He sighed.
"Ok. But don't laugh or say to me I'm insane, ok?" Officer Gonzales said.
"Why do I do that?" I said.
"Because they do. They don't believe me and make fun of me." He said with sadness in his eyes.
"Just give it a try to me." I encouraged him again.
"Ok. Sir, I-I think it's a vampire and a powerful witch that using dark power did this thing so even if we extend our efforts it will only fail 'til there will be no living here in Seward Park." I was stunned at first by what he said then he looked at the floor. I see also his hands were trembling. I stared at him for a minute.
"Do you think so? What do you understand in these creatures?" I said. He looked at me in disbelief.
"C-chief, do you believe in me?!" He said surprisingly. I nodded.
"So what do you know about these creatures: A Vampire and a witch," I asked him.
"Sir I believe that it's a vampire who killed the victims because the two holes were marked on the necks of the victims. Vampires do suck their victims' blood on their necks to drink blood. As you observed each victim, their blood was drained but they do not have wounds or cuts, right?" I agreed with him.
"How about the missing heart of each victim?" I asked him.
"Sir, it's because of a powerful witch who uses black magic. As you see, no hole or even a cut in each victim's chest, right?" He said. I agreed with him again.
"So they are working together, do you mean that?" I said to him.
"Yes, sir." He said. I played with my chin with my fingers while thinking.
"Sir, I remember when I was a child my grandma always told a story of Tales of A Vampire." He continued giving me information. My brows furrowed. His words caught my attention. What he said was more interesting.
"And what is this story all about?" I asked interestingly.
"Well, it's a story of A Vampire, wolves, witches, and other creatures who walk here on earth since the centuries passed, my grandma said." Then he continued telling me what her grandmother narrated to him.
Long ago, all the creatures created by Moon Goddess live in peace. But one day, the Moon Goddess decides to back to a place where she belongs. So she created Supreme creatures in each clan to guard the peace and harmony of every living creature here on Earth in her absence. But times went by, in a vampire clan, some eyeing the throne of the kingdom because of their greed and evil hearts. They made chaos and war to get the throne from their Supreme King, and the former kingdom was fallen. And the new rule of vampires rised. When this new king and his new kingdom ruled the world, he set new rules that only batted from themselves. All that are loyal to the former king were punished by death. So the old kingdom vanished.
