We entered the store ignoring the stare of the Karayan. I pretend to look for good wine, Allyson does the same, too.
The owner of the store come to us.
"Good morning, we have the best wine here. What brand you are looking for?" The big man with a fat belly approaches us.
"Oh, hi. We are looking for Chateau Ausone. Do you have that?" I asked.
"Oh! Yes! Yes! We have that. Come this way please." The owner of the store led us to the cabinet in the opposite direction. The five, are listening to us. I glance in their directions. I clear my throat. The owner het the key in his pocket.
"Hey, aren't they buying a wine?" Allyson asked. The owner glance at him.
"Oh, they wil. maybe later. I asked them a while ago they said they can manage. They will choose from the varieties." The owner said as. he smiled.
"Oh, are you the owner here?" I ask.
"Yes." Is he reaching the wine?
"Are they your regular customer?" Allyson inquire.
"Oh, yes. They are the second time around here." He replies.
"This, madam. Chateau Ausone 2012." He said and give it to me. I accept the wine and look at it.
"Ah, why you asking, madam, sir?" He asks curiously.
"Nothing. We are just curious. That's all." I said as I shrug my shoulder. Holding the neck of the wine. The five vampires were glancing at us, I knew they heard us so I stop inquiring. I hold the arm of Allyson. Allyson glance at my hand and my face. I clear my throat and smile at him sweetly.
"Is this wine good for you, ma'am?" The owner interrupts us.
"Yes, make it two bottles then I pay it. I answer quickly. The owner smile happily when I ordered two bottles of Chateau Ausone 2021.
" Ok, mademoiselle, will get an additional one." The owner says enthusiastically! He gets another bottle of Chateau Ausone 2012 then he proceeds to the cashier. The owner excitedly wraps the bottles while the cashier lady punches the price.
"How much does the total cost?" Allyson asks the cashier.
"I will pay that," I said to Allyson.
"No. Let me pay that, please. It's ok." Allyson reply.
"$1,230.00 your total bills for the two wines, sir/madam." The lady cashier said. Allyson gives his master card to the cashier. The cashier swipes his card and Allyson signs it.
"Thank you!" As I thank him. The owner gives me the beautiful boxes of wine.
"Thank you! Please come again." Said the owner. I smile at him.
"Let's go," I said. The five glanced at us until we finished our transaction with the owner. Allyson take a lead, opening the door for me when the five follow us. Allyson and I look at each other secretly. He smirks. I smile and arch my brow.
Allyson held my hand, as we play a couple. The five follow us from a distance.
"Seems we had a company," I whisper.
"Think so," Allyson reply.
"We go with the flow," I said.
"Hmmm.." Allyson hum. We continue our walk when an idea comes to me. I see the seafood restaurant.
"Let's eat see food. I'm hungry." I said to Allyson.
"Ok, let's go inside," Allyson says. We walk into the restaurant. As I expected the five follow us.
Inside we choose a dining table. The five vampires take their seats near to us. The waiter took our orders. I start to chat with Allyson.
"So, you grew up here and come back," I said.
"Yes," He replies.
"New York is a good place to live and I guess a good place to build your career," I said. He take a breath before he answered me
"Well, on the contrary you are right but for me, anywhere you can build your dream career. It's up to you if you excel or not." He replies. Well, he has a point.
"I agree." I says.
"How about you? Why you become a police woman? I didn't mean to discriminate you but you are too beautiful for this work." He says.
"Oh, thank you for flattering me but I love man's work." I simply say.
"Oh, well, your beautiful bad ass! Ha! Ha! Ha!" Allyson laugh at his remarks. I smile. While we are talking we both know that the Karayan group are glancing to us.
The waiter come by and set our order. We dig our food, Allyson whisper to me.
"What do you think?" Allyson says.
"They have ears, so let us go a long. And be patient, my dear, soon we will know, why?" I whisper to him, too. I nib his ear which make him red his face and choke. I chuckled. He drink his water and look at me. I wink him and give him a playful smile before I stuff the food in my mouth.
We enjoyed our food between our chats when one of the Karayan approach us in our table. The vampire who I think their leader.
"Hi, excuse me. I'm sorry for interrupt you but would you mind to give me a minute?" He asks with his sweet smile, without our permission he take his seat.
"Oh, yes. Ok.?" I said.
"What do you want to say?" Allyson asks.
"Ok, thank you. By the way I'm Arius, Arius Karayan." He said he lift up his jand to shake. Allyson and I shake his hand briefly.
"So, what's up?" I said.
"Well, you are.guys are couple?" He ask. Allyson look at me.
"Yes, we are couple." I answered him. Looking straight to his eyes. Allyson keep silence.
"Oh, well, that is good. Are you new here?" He ask.
"No. We just come back from abroad." Allyson says.
"Oh, so that is why your face is new here. Anyway, we are having a party tomorrow night. I just wonder if yoy want to join us? At least for our bonding as a citizen here in this small town, Seward Park. You, know getting to know each other." He said. Allyson and I stared each other.
