Allyson's POV
I felt like cold water poured on me when I heard Elliot's words.
"W-what? Did you say that Colton and the twin killed, uncle Muffy?" I said in shock. He nods.
"H-how it did happen?" I ask.
"Allyson, I think this is not the right place to talk about these things. Our General and some are resting in peace here. It is not good to make noise. Let us go back to the castle and talk about this matter. Now, that Uncle Muffy is in resting now, let say our last farewell to him, and let us give thanks also to the former higher ranks of our family who died for us and to our people. Let us pray solemnly, too, to the Moon Goddess who gave them to us to serve us until their last breath." Grandma Alice says.
I don't know who is their Moon Goddess but I pray to God for what grandma says, though I didn't know them personally, only uncle Muffy. We all bow our heads and are silent while we are praying to each of them from our hearts. After a while, we finish our prayers.
"Let us go back now to the castle." Grandma Alice says.
"Don't tell me that we will back on that bridge, grandma?" I said in horror.
"Yes, where else do you want to go out? Do you have an option?" Grandma says.
"Granny, are you sure there is no other exit to this place?" I ask her. She gives me a scornful look.
"Grandson, the Bridge of Death is the easiest way to go here and out. Just follow the instruction, the rest of the gates are more dangerous than this one. Believe me, my grandson." Grandma says tapping my cheeks and she proceeds to walk towards the gate where we entered - The Pheonix Gate of Death.
"Oh," I said. Following her. So it means it is more creepy and horrifying than the other gates? Oh, my. I follow them silently, again Elliot comes beside me to be my guard. Grandma waves her again to open the gate for us to go outside. When we did, we back again to the bridge more in silence and carefully this time. The bats are flying again in the air and the fogs are thicker than before this time. We succeed to pass the bridge although we have difficulty seeing the bridge because of fogs we held in a rope tightly and carefully walk to go back to the ground.
We are now back in the deep forest again with the golden tree, but now the tree is back to its normal colors and features like before. I am. curious what is this tree is, at first you will see it as an old oak tree but now start started every detail it not, they almost look like each other but the differences in their leaves and there are roots on it from above like a Balete tree, but I can't tell it a balete tree where its body looks like an old oak tree.
"Ah, granny, what do you call this tree?" I ask curiously. Granny glance back at the tree and turn to look at me again.
"This tree is called a Tree of Death."
"Oh," So as it is the purpose when we enter and exit here. And now this tree looks like death. It changes its color and the leaves are gone.
"At dawn til night this tree looks like a dead tree but in the morning it is the alive tree as we see it before we enter its gate," Elliot explained to me.
"Oh, fascinating!" I said.
"Hmm," Elliot agree with me. looking back at the tree.
"Let us go to the castle now," Granny said. Then Elliot raise his hands and a portal appeared.
"Your highness, you first before the prince," Elliot says. Then granny enter the portal before me and the warriors after me and last to enter is Elliot.
We are in a corridor that I am not familiar with. But what amazed me is the three of us only appeared.
"W-where are the warriors?" I ask.
"Don't worry they are in their post now, guarding our territory and the castle," Elliot says.
"Oh, so where are we?" I ask.
"This place is the most forbidden place in the castle," Granny says to me. I furrow my brows. There is a lot of forbidden place in this castle. Jesus Christ! I shook my head.
'Let us go inside. Let me show you something." Granny says. I look at Elliot who is serious following my grandmother and so do I.
Grandma goes to the giant closed door that has intricate designs of vines and leaves that each leaf has a white circle that looks like the moon. Grandma's eyes glow white and the intricate designs of vines and leaves are moving, then the circles are glowing light like my granny's eyes. When it stops moving, the door was opened. The room was dark at first but when my granny swish her fingers and the lights were on. The lights spread out to the room. I started when the doors closed but still, I didn't say anything. there are lots of books inside from ground to ceiling. Those in the upper levels have a glass door. It's fascinating to see that there is no dust on each shelf. They are clean and properly maintained.
"Oh, fascinating!" I said. Granny smirk.
"Did you not remember this place?" Elliot asks. I furrow my brows at what he says.
"Why? What is this place." I ask Elliot as I look over the place. He shrugs his shoulder and shuts his mouth.
Elliot inserts his hand at the back of the shelves then the wall opens. It is a secret door! I said to myself. We go inside then the door closes again. it's dark but Elliot's pointing finger produces lights. Now I can see the stairs going down. We follow these stairs.
