Chapter 12 Are You Not Dead?

814 Words
The door of the reception room was pushed open. A woman in a pink and white suit walked in. She had delicate makeup and had her hair tied up in a bun. "Watkins Group is really something. Do you know that you just have your business partner waiting for nearly half an hour?" Amber turned back and sneered. When she saw who it was, she suddenly paused. She couldn't believe what she saw and fixed her eyes on Lynnsey's face. "Why does this woman look exactly like Lynnsey? But... Didn't Lynnsey die four years ago? How come she is alive? What is she doing here?" Amber had a few questions in a row in her heart. "Are you a ghost?" Amber trembled slightly when she spoke again. Her face was as pale as a sheet. She didn't kill Lynnsey herself, but Lynnsey died because of her. After that night, she had been haunted by nightmares for the past four years. In her dreams, Lynnsey came to her to get revenge over and over again. "Do you want me to be a ghost?" Lynnsey asked back and walked in, sitting on the sofa. She put on a faint smile on her face, and there was nothing but coldness in her eyes when she stared at Amber's pale face. "You're not dead! You're still alive!" Amber shivered and came back to her senses. But she remembered that Lynnsey had a massive hemorrhage during her delivery, and she survived. The fire and the water didn't kill Lynnsey either. How could she be so lucky? "Why? Are you disappointed? We are sisters, Amber. Shouldn't you be happy to see me alive?" Lynnsey said flatly and raised her chin. She didn't bother to hide the thick hatred in her eyes. Looking at the look on Lynnsey's face, Amber remembered Spike. Spike had that look too! If Spike met Lynnsey... Amber's heart was pounding wildly. She was so nervous that she had to pinch her palm hard to calm down. The next moment, tears streamed down her cheek. She sobbed and said, "Of course I'm glad to see you back, Lynn. You have no idea how much I regret these years. I shouldn't have left you alone in the warehouse that night. Lynn, Dad misses you so much. You should go back with me to see Dad. If he knows that you are still alive, he must be very happy." Lynnsey chuckled at her words. Before she turned eighteen, she did believe that Cain loved her. But the second day, when her scandal spread out, she got a stinging slap from Cain. Would a father who loved his daughter lock her up in a warehouse just after she got involved in a scandal and refused to see her for eight months? All his "love" and "care" were all for the shares in her hands. "You've stolen my life for four years, Amber. It's about time. I'm going to take back everything you took from me one by one." Lynnsey remained calm as she spoke. However, the look in her eyes scared Amber so much that she took a step back. The first thing she thought of was the two kids of the Morgado family. Did Lynnsey come back this time to take the two kids away from her? "Also, your two sons died because of you, and you are going to pay for that," Lynnsey said word by word, and the tone of her voice sounded as if she was going to skin Amber alive. Amber was stunned. So Lynnsey thought that her two boys were dead. That was great. Lynnsey wasn't coming back for the kids. Amber finally felt some sort of relief. Fortunately, Ray didn't expose the existence of the two kids. Otherwise, Lynnsey would find out about the kids sooner or later. At that time, nothing could be hidden anymore. But even so, she couldn't let Lynnsey live. Amber suppressed the fierce look in her eyes, and said slowly, "Lynn, the kids died after they were born. I was their auntie. It hurts me when I see them die too. I gave them a proper funeral four years ago, and I visit their graves every year on the date they passed away. Lynn, I didn't want to lose them too." Hearing this, Lynnsey stood up abruptly and grabbed Amber by her collar. "Where did you bury them?" "They are in some cemetery in the east of the city. I don't know the exact address. How about this? I'll take you there tomorrow." Amber said carefully, thinking that she had hidden the light in her eyes very well. Lynnsey always had dreams about her two babies in the past four years. Even just seeing their tombstones could ease the grief in her heart a little bit. She would never let go of the person who had them killed.
