Walking beside Nevie, I wanted to be excited. I’d wanted this for so long, but now all I could think about was the fact that she had a mate. I tried to shake the feeling off. I wanted her to enjoy this date. Last night I’d come up with a plan, and it seemed like that wasn’t going to be happening now. I’d wanted a happily ever after with her. It seemed fate had other plans.
